I'm thinking about putting a screen in the kitchen to enable me to view recipes whilst cooking , instead of trying to use my phone. The screen would need to be thin (for wall hanging above the worktop) and about 30 x 20 cm - There is a socket very close to where it would be positioned. Obviously, prices and model numbers may vary, because of where I live and where someone recommending something does, BUT what I'm hoping for is some general recommendations and tips about things to do/avoid. Price isn't the most important factor BUT becomes relevant and a major consideration because I'm thinking of a convenience, NOT a necessity. Any thoughts/help will be much appreciated.
Look for a screen that's about 12 x 8 x 0.5 inches with bluetooth connectivity that you can afford. Alternatively print out your recipes and use a blob of blu tack.
Not clear on exactly what you want to do. Will you connect the screen to another PC or maybe phone? Suggestion to use an iPad or other tablet is not a bad alternative. Plenty of Android tablets around as well, and will be cheaper. Also can get PC tablets at good second hand prices. e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Android-PADGENE®-Android7-0-Phablet-Bluetooth/dp/B0788NWGNW/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=bluetooth screen&qid=1580981789&sr=8-5 advantage is that you can control the device directly, not have to pick up your phone to scroll or find another recipe, or even walk over to a PC. Bluetooth is possible for displays, but generally aimed at phones projecting to screens. Which in your case may be what you want. If you want to connect to a PC, assuming you have a recent Windows 10 PC, look for Miracast compatible screens. Or get any Screen with an HDMI socket and try something like: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01EJJB4PC/?tag=not606-21 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07VFG8FFK/?tag=not606-21
Another option is a smart TV with a wifi connection. You can use the remote to search the web by just connecting it to your wifi modem. Smallest you'll find for a TV nowadays is 32 inch so an Ipad or tablet may well be your best option.
I got an echo show the other month and that's canny in the kitchen for recopies on it's screen and a bit of music whilst cooking
