The last few weeks have been a real roller coaster for the OSC. Two pieces of bad news, the unexpected passing away of board member Ron Black, hit us hard.Followed last week Megan Pratt, a girl who we know very well and who's fight against cancer has touched the hearts of so many. Our charity work has continued through the summer break. Hull 4 Heroes and CRY have both benefited from the 2 Pub Quiz Nights we host each month in the Constable Arms (Sproatley) and the Green Dragon (Welton). we set a target of £1000 for Hull 4 Heroes and this was reached earlier this month. Working with the Tigers Trust, the OSC helped Nice 2b Nice to make Ruby Lawler a "Princess for the Day". I should warn you that you will need a hanky or two when you read Ruby's story, but don't let that stop you . This week the latest edition of the Tigermag will be delivered to our members, it is the first one to be published under our new sponsorship deal with Seagold and Ice Fresh Seafood. We held an Academy Open day in August and 20 junior members had a great time at Bishops Burton. Last season saw the development of our online reporting, this has been expanded We start with the pre-match manager and player conference at the training ground and on matchday we attend the press centre and report on the match itself on facebook, twitter and snapchat. After every match we publish a match report. Supporters reporting for supporters. It is a real pleasure to work with the board and officers of the OSC. We are always looking for others to come along and help out. As we may be entering into a new era in the football club the Hull City Official Supporters Club is looking forward to a great season of supporter involvement. https://www.facebook.com/HCOSC/
Read into that what you want, the fact is that we did more events last season in Hull than we have before. When we looked at the addresses of the members who attended one of our events at the KC (as it was) we found that the majority actually lived in the East Riding. There is an even split between officers who live in Hull and those that live outside. If you would us to run a pub quiz in your local pub, step forward and join in, raise a few shillings for a good cause or two. If you do not like that the Academy is in Bishops Burton, buy the ****ing club and move it into Hull.
In the last figures I saw (which was quite some time ago now), two thirds of our season pass holders lived in the East Riding.
I was surprised when that came out. I don't know how much it has changed, this season. When things have settled down a bit at the club, I will ask.
I like this renewed OSC. It is honest and refreshingly improving. I asked questions, the answers not always what I hoped for, but probably expected. The early versions of this thread were hard work, but they are getting there. Aye, it's good to see progress. Well done to all concerned.
