Apparently, we are suing Lambert too! This situation is utterly stupid and should have been settled properly. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8140205/? Got to laugh at his comments though when he says "that's where I'll leave it" before continuing "they are suing me too". **** sake
Its what I expected we are suing him for breach of contract so standard response is for him to sue us, hopefully his mind will be full of lawyers meetings and he totally screws up at Villa, they should have paid us a bit of compo and this will all have gone away, cheap little midlands club
Well things are about to get interesting. Sad that both sides can't just drop the case and move on. Can anyone tell me exactly what the Premier League managers' tribunal is? Does it just sort out issues to do with dismissal etc or is it based in favour of the manager?
Quote the great man himself "Am I concerned Norwich fans are only hearing one side of the story? Yes." interesting, whether this is a real feeling from him we will never know.
It's not a "managers tribunal", it is a tribunal of the PL to adjudicate on disputes, similar to the FA tribunal which dealt with the case brought against City by Colchester. That said, wrongful dismissal cases are normally heard by an employment tribunal under employment legislation, not the procedures of a body like the Premier League. Lot of clarification needed here I think.
seems as though you are only getting told half the story from your guys in regards to this, surly Norwich suing Lambert is an important piece of related news when Bowkett released his part about Lambert suing Norwich. Are they trying to play the injured party in all of this?
I can just picture all those lawyer leeches rubbing their hands together, money, money, money I thought we had moved on from the PL era and now we've got all this crap
Cheers mate So basically if it were to go to appeal etc it could be taken to a different court of law etc? Pretty confusing stuff and a bit of a mess really. Hopefully there will be a quick resolution but I doubt it.
This is just what we need isn't it? Surely the focus should be our current season not all our yesterdays.
Surely if we're both off money from each other the easiest thing to do would be to quietly settle out of court and let the whole thing disappear? So we're suing him for breach of contract, and he's suing us for the same thing?
as guru points out, it doesn't sound like we are getting all the facts, and even those we are getting aren't clarified. it only raised its ugly head last night and already i'm sick of the whole thing! would be nice to get back to football but this is likely to rumble on and on and on...
Is it a case that in his contract, it stated that he was allowed to talk to any suitor but was told by McNally that he couldn't. Therefore McNally had 'broken' the terms of the contract. Did PL have to 'resign' to speak to Villa (Whose to say that he might have spoken to AV and decided to stay at NCFC) but by then it was too late, he had already 'jumped'?
Personally this whole thing is a total farce and I only hope Villa are taking note of all this when it comes to their turn to deal with him leaving......
