It Did Matter After All

Along with many others, I convinced myself it didn't matter if we went down.
I could live with it, in fact it would probably have given me the opportunity to get too a few away games in the Championship.

I was wrong about that, it Did Matter to me in the end.

This season was s***, of that there is no doubt, last year I missed most of the season, but yesterday I saw and felt something that had been missing for a good while.

For me St James Park came alive again.

It has to be built on, otherwise, its just another false dawn, and we may as well have been relegated after all.
Ashley did his interview, so now its up to him, to make things happen..

 

I think we should all look forward to the week before the start of next season and hopefully Ashley will take to our screens again to tell us where he expects us to be.

He needs to start to deliver.

I am skeptical, but maybe the nail has finally hit home.

 

Statements should have already been made by the club, they haven't, Carver/Charnley immune, same old sh!t I fear.

 

I think Mark Douglas said something about this week we should expect some news. If it is what we all fear and Carver gets the job, we know that Ashley was talking nothing but PR bollocks yesterday.

 

We've received over £75million for playing in the Premier League this year. The season after next, when the new TV deal kicks in, finishing 15th would net us over £130million. I think the risk of getting relegated and missing out on that is the only nail that would hit home for MA. We should see the back of Carver (as head coach at least) and we'll spend some money this summer - probably a lot compared with what we are used to, but it will still only be what MA and his 'advisers' have deemed the minimum required to get by in mid-table. Challenging for any cups, or European qualification... Can anyone really see it, regardless of whatever scripted answers Ashley gave to those scripted questions yesterday?

 

That is the problem. I don't. It seems too good to be true.

 

We will sell all our players and be relegated.

 

It wouldn't be the same without Williamson, Gouffran, Obertan and some of the other gems.
If the fat twat decides to cash in on them, we deserve to be relegated next year.

 

If Cashley can cash in on them he deserves the freedom of the city never mind relegation.

On that basis, he'll probably get a Knighthood, if he dumps Pardews Assistant.

We'll be stuck with most of the crap due to the long contracts their on.

 

Glad we stayed up, but I wasn't as nervous as I expected at 1-0. Club needs to improve and invest in the correct players and manager, that doesn't mean getting Steve McClaren. Would like to sign at least one of Charlie Austin or Danny Ings if possible.
