The former Real Madrid midfielder(below)joined the Hoops in August in a £9million transfer. But Betis coachPepe Mel is a close friend of the star, 25, and hopes to tempt him back to Spain in January. Granero has been one of QPR’s best players this season and has four years left on his contract. But Betis have been told he is homesick in London and could be tempted by a move back home. Granero earns almost £3m a year and Betis feel relegation-threatened QPR may be forced to consider cutting their losses if they are still in trouble at Christmas. Betis want the former Spain Under-21s star initially on loan, with a view to a permanent deal if he impresses. They tried to sign Granero when he quit Real Madrid last summer.
