Me and my mates were just talking about this issue over the weekend. Now the despots of the world (North Korea, Syria, Iran, Russia etc etc) can see what a virus can do economically to even the richest countries. don't be surprised if more of this kind of virus gets unleashed in the years to come. I can see a virus being developed together with a vaccine to keep their own citizens safe. This genie is now out of the bottle...As effective as a Nuclear weapon, almost certainly cheaper and probably a lot more effective.
I usually laugh at conspiracy theories but there's a real danger with this situation. China and Russia have so little regard for their poor population that I doubt they'd worry about losing a few million. They have plenty to spare and it'll save on benefit payments. The Russian government keep the population down by flooding the country with cheap vodka ... .... the Chinese use fear and turn a blind eye to baby girls vanishing. The wealthy are naturally isolated anyway and can afford the best health care, great group of lads.
I was chatting with a medic yesterday about how this particular virus does seem somewhat "designer" in that it affects some nationalities more than others. Just like a storyline in Designated Survivor on netflix. We were chewing over how the virus has to mutate and evolve in a very unique way to affect some more that others. Think of a very long decision tree diagram. The probability of it doing so naturally is very unlikely...he says there is a paper that may be published that will highlight this, he mentioned RNA(?)
Not just governments either. Chuck in the advancements being made in gene technology and how cheap and accesible it is, plenty of nutter groups are going to be joining the list of those who can cook up some seriously nasty ****.
