I will kick it off, we were in the Sportsman’s Club, had a great view of the Arch, it was boiling hot, and the chanting started between us and the rest of City fans in The Torch, little did we know what was to come, best day ever following City

I was probably about to go to sleep so was likely having a Thomas as well.

My only memory of the day, because it was before my time supporting the club, was seeing the highlights the next morning on the news, and something clicking into place.

I took a plane to Dublin from Doncaster on the Thursday for a Bruce Springsteen concert at the RDS that evening which we'd booked months earlier.
Friday was spent at the zoo in Phoenix Park and getting trollied round Temple Bar.
Got up Saturday morning and headed back to Dublin Airport for a flight to Heathrow.
    Taxi to Crystal Bar
    Watch game.
Taxi to Heathrow for flight to Dublin.
    Rejoin friends in Temple Bar.
Get up Sunday and get flight back to Doncaster.

Just getting a train from the midlands, friends and family had drove up and stopped the night at ours,
A few flat beers in London, City fans everywhere, the walk down Wembley way,
the game, pressure, relief, joy, tears, the wife gives me a cuddle and the look. (aw bless you ****ing idiot, its only a game)
It will never be repeated my **** team that I had been ragged for watching all my life had done it.
THE BEST DAY EVER FOLLOWING CITY.

Watched the Amber Nectar podcast last night with Brian Hughes, brought it all back, including how it was the first time anyone of my generation had seen 40K City all together and how strunned and emotionally drained we all were post-game. Epic.

Its probably worth remembering the game that got us to Wembley as well - fantastic memories - arguably the three greatest Hull City games ever all in the same year, 2008 - Watford, Wembley and Arsenal away - thanks for the memories Brownie - ten years on it could have been so different

There's a word overused by commentators of football matches.
If ever it should be used it should have been to describe Deano's volley and the build up to it.
    BRILLIANT !

Sportsman’s Club on Mr M’s coach
    Met brothers there
Remember drinking Guinness with loads of people I knew and City fan kids playing cricket in the background
Steady wander up Wembley way, seeing that Land of Green Ginger flag, bumping into friends from all over the world.
    THAT GOAL!
    Tense after that, incredible end

Got very pissed on the way home

we drove down day before - booked my wife and two sons in central London hotel - had meal out in covent garden - few beers - got up early - covered car in flags and scarves and drove through central London to Wembley with the car covered in black and amber - arrived about ten, dumped the car in the multi storey next to the stadium and just soaked up the atmosphere until the match started - booked the hospitality package on the front row directly behind the goal - worth every penny - in some ways it seems like only yesterday in others its a different life time - the mammonism that is the Allams have truly ****ed up the dream

The 3 crucial moments in City's history in my opinion:
2 local Hull lads and an American born keeper - who'd have thought it.
Let's throw in an Australian too.

And of course Deano's volley (see above).

    magnificent.

Went down on one of the footy special trains from Paragon (it was that old I am sure it was one we trashed in the 70's :emoticon-0140-rofl: ) .
Couldnt get in any boozer around Wembley coz they were all rammed so into the nearby offy for a carrier full of beer. Then wandered around Wembley Way taking in the atmosphere supping cans like a tramp <cheers>.

I just knew that day was OUR DAY
