Issues with Rodgers decision: - Why is Milner vice captain? He has only just arrived and just does not look like a captain. I want Sturridge as vice captain. At the weekend Sturridge offered spark and inspiration. - Our team look unsure of what they should be doing. I could not tell what our system was tonight. Players were all over the place and very hesitant. - Players look fed up. Like they dont know what they are playing for. Have they lost faith in Rodgers? - Favouritism. Rodgers is a sucker for favoritism. Milner has instantly become his BFF. Rodgers is the kid who picks his friends ahead of the best talents in PE. Commendable at school, crap in real life. - Rodgers is a yes man, he tries to charm, say what people want to hear. He does not offer his own genuine voice IMO. He used to, but not any more. Has he lst faith in himself? - Our squad is actually pretty damn decent. Coutinho, Sturridge, Benteke, Firmino, Lallana, Clyne, Can, Sakho. But so many of those get left out or stuck out of position. Rodgers does not know how to use them. Or he does not want to. - He cannot set up a defense, and is not trying to learn. Its obvious.
It's been the same 2 fecking problems for 3 years (i.e. his first one, last season and what we've had of this one) barring the Suarez fest one that are the main cause of why we're so dire 1. We don't score goals even though we have lots of possession and shots, the attack is impotent but plentiful, like pounding away at the hole even though the shaft has long since gone limp and lost all feeling from the effort 2. He can't make a decent defence ... a decent one, let alone a good one, mostly it's a one that allows in bounteous levels of goal pie for them
He's too soft to be a manager. He has no bite. Kisses the players arses too much instead of grabbing them by the ear and banging their faces into the wall. When things were going well and he didn't need to manage the Players we did well. When we do bad he doesn't know how to box their lugholes. We need someone softer than Rafa and harder than Rodgers.
I think you raise some great points but there are issues above him as well. We need real leadership - Ayre is finally leaving at the end of year but I'm not Mike Gordon is the man to be leading. The fact there is a complete mish mash of structure and policy in terms of recruitments is really hurting us. We need to bring in a CEO and a DoF as well as a new manager.
He's also surrounded by mediocrity - first it was Marsh and Pascoe, now it's Mac and Driscoll. This was such a great opportunity to bring in quality coaches with real pedigree and top level experience but he was too concerned with bringing in guys he can be mates with IMO.
