Possibility of a new manager on the way, it feels like Christmas.. I just hope it's not one of those Christmas's where you ask Santa for something really cool and you get the rip off version A few post's from "The Rumour Mill" http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/spfl/rumour-mill-ronny-deila-berwick-rangers-1-3545368 http://www.cleansheetsallround.co.uk/17712/next-cardiff-city http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 All are pointing to Dundee's Paul Hartley. I must admit, I don't know much about the bloke other than he manages Dundee United and Dundee are doing the very best they can to keep him in the job. Tony Pulis is 2nd favourite (no secret it's my preferred choice) but reports state he prefers to hold out for a premier league club.
I think people have mentioned it on other threads. Pulis would be a great move for you in this position, but after the mess at Palace, would he opt to work with an authoritative figure like Tan? The problem you have is that Tan's reputation was quite publicly trashed over the shirts/badge/protests/McKay sacking (although McKay has shown himself to be less than reputable either). Any potential manager who has access to Google could be put off by all the ****e that went on. That might leave you with an unknown quantity like OGS or a crazy person like Pardew (who hasn't even been sacked yet) or an even crazier person in Paulo Di Canio.
Di Canio would be a disaster. I think Pulis might well hold out until the Newcastle/Hull situation plays out. We shouldn't wait for him to change his mind, although he did refuse the Palace job at first. I honestly think the Tan thing is hyped into a much bigger thing than it actually is by the media, I think only a very small percentage of managers would be put off by his 'reputation'. Pulis might be one of them but tbh I think he is justified to wait for the PL as that is where he belongs. The question is will a job that fits become available though?
Pulis has enough clout to work fine with Tan, don't think he'll have the same problem as CP. (No money for preferred transfers)
DJ I agree with you, Pullis would be a great fit for you. But would he put up with Tan;s possible antics. He and Parish at Palace didnt see eye to eye and he walked. That would be disatorous for you if you get him and that was to happen again.
I think it's the best time to come to Cardiff lost 3 managers in just over 3 years, Tan will want to get some stability. Pulis could run rings around Tan, I think Tan would take a back seat until we get back to the Prem.
If its true, the big issue is that VT seemingly doesn't want the new manager in charge of transfers. That will definitely rule out some of the good guys and certainly Pulis.
