that the referee standards commission (or budgie supporters as they are more commonly known) haven't gave their views on the ref on saturday, considering his awful decision to book Tevez for diving when he was clearly caught early on in the area?

Fair play Guru, I thought the ref was spot on in real time, but, having watched the incident a million times now, yes, Bennett did stand on his foot, but Tevez earned his "unfair" yellow card by overdoing the theatricals! It came back at him!

So according to your rules Dave, Grunt should be booked every game then? Its funny how the budgies want refs to be hung, drawn and quartered when they get a decision wrong against them, yet i have even seen some quotes from budgie fans saying he was one of the best this year!

One of the best this year comparatively speaking! He was ****, most of the others were utter ****! I had to laugh at SAF saying Young "made too much of it" if there was any contact, which I don't believe there was, it would be because Young threw his leg towards the defender to make it look like contact!

Maybe I was harsh on Tevez, I really don't like the little twat, so maybe I'm the wrong one to judge him!

looked like a dive at the time i must admit but ref made a clanger there. shame as the ref actually had a decent game, i think that was the only thing he missed. not sure it affected the scoreline much though! <laugh>

on a side note, tevez was incredible all match - how can he still be that good after not playing for so long?!?! his golf swing looked decent too, as you'd expect...

Contact does not necessarily equate to a penalty, and I never saw a replay but at first glance it looked a big dive to me! In the scheme of things it didn't matter anyway (Just like the 3 stonewall pens we were denied against Tottenham) and I didn't hear Mancini complaining about it.

And as for Grant Holt...? You know I have never seen him dive once, honest to God. You binners seem to have the idea he is a cheat, which stems from:

    1) Your player being sent off.
    2) Your suspicions of handball when he opened the scoring against you.

Now the second one, I can say unbiased was not handball and the first one he was also fouled. It probably shouldn't have been a red card because Holt wasn't fast enough to make it a goalscoring opportunity but that is the referee's fault and not Holt's. So, please remind why Grant Holt is a cheat?

<laugh> yes, funny they never mentioned the three stone wall penalties we were denied at white hart lane! anyway, i can't think why mancini would mention it - his team had just won 6-1. had it been a draw i bet it'd have been the first thing out of his mouth. it was a definite penalty but thankfully it didn't affect the result. the ashley young one was argued by fergie that its a penalty cos there's contact. well yes, there was contact, by young on the defender (clark was it?) - he kicked into his leg which was being pulled away. no penalty for me but its difficult to see in real time as i thought it was a penalty at the time. totally agree with your post DM.

The fact that Holt shouldn't of even been on the pitch after his reckless knee high challenge on Colback I suppose is besides the point! <ok> <doh>

My point is, the way you lot were banging on about how everybody hate you, decisions never go your way. You all seemed to convinently forgot about one that did go your way.

one is punching the ball in the net (which i have to say have done and got away with) the other is going out to injure a fellow professional!

not really the same, is it!

The overwhelming majority of dodgy decisions go their way at the Carrot patch and they still aren't bleeding satisfied! <yikes>

    <laugh> nice try warky!

guru, are you defending haynes actions?!

i think the tevez decision was forgotten about because of the scoreline. had we taken a point i think you'd have seen a different reaction. likewise, had we not won the spurs game i think there would have been an almighty hoo-ha...

there have, of course, been some mind-numbingly bad decisions against us such as those three pens at spurs, two penalties for fouls outside the box, the vicious elbow against west brom and i've lost count of the times players could and should have been dismissed - baines could have been sent off on three occasions the other week, but overall its probably evened out for us. we got a dodgy penalty for handball against blackburn, the barton incident which was something out of nothing really, tierney's farcical collapse at bolton (albeit when 2-0 up) and got away with the tevez tackle which had no bearing on the result i'm sure, but actually, surprisingly, we haven't been involved in too many controversies. bizrrely, most of our favourable decisions have come away from home. most of the bad calls have been at home.

with something like handball, yes i do defend any player because you will get decisions go against you wrongly so if you can gain an advantage do it. I tried it once, the first time the ref noticed and he gave me a yellow for my trouble, the next time i got away with it and got the goal. I will try to explain myself why i take this attitude, If i got clean through 1 on 1 with the keeper and knew i was offside would you expect me to stop and put my hands up and say i was offside? I would say no, so what is the difference between that and a handball?

Deliberate handball is a foul, being offside isn't!

so does that mean we won't have any whining from you lot when you have a decision go against you because you realise that they will even out over the season?
