Is Wilshere ready to fill the Fabregas-shaped gap in the squad? He's good, no denying it ... but he's not the same class as Fabregas is at the moment.
 
No. He clearly does not have the end product Fabregas has just yet. We need a proper replacement for Fabregas. And with the money we will get, you can get a class replacement.
 
I don't think Wilshere will be the one to replace Fabregas. Wilshere is a different kind of player. The two players who I believe are similar to Fabregas are Rosicky and Ramsey. Nasri can't fill this role.

Rosicky, in my opinion, should be played in the 'Fabregas role' this season. Let's hope he turns his carrer around! <cheers>
 
He can play off the front man. We normally play 4-2-3-1. Mata can play off Van Persie. Never said the player we will get will do the same job as Fabregas because he is probaly the best at what he does, but Mata is a class replacement.
 
Jack hasn't showed much of his attacking flair because his supposed midfield partner (cesc) has been playing like a second striker. It was meant to be song holding and jack and cesc in front of him. Cesc didn't want to do the dirty work so jack had to pretty much play as a second DM.

I'd say jack is just as good going forward as cesc was at that age and would like to see him given more freedom to get forward!
 
What about something similar to Liverpool we sold Torres and got Suarez & Carroll. You have sold Fabregas and have Wilshire & Ramsey or buy someone to play alongside Wilshire because lets face it he has to be ready.
 
Wishire's improvement in the last 12 months with soften the blow of Fabregas going but won't replace him. I think the money you got was a joke and you'd have to spend about the same if you wanted Mata now you have missed the release clause date. I also think Mata is both an inferior player and similar to other players you already have.

The next 3 weeks is where Wenger earns his rubbles.

I think I may be the only person out there who doesn't think Jack will be as good this year as last season. Then he was a revelation and took everyone by surprise. I think he'll still be very good but expectation and awareness from other teams will neutralise him somewhat. I also expect him to pick up a minimum of two red cards!
 
I think Wilshere is being a tad overrated here, probably because he's english. Also, both players are quite different and i doubt that he will be the man to replace Fabs. Ramsey is more that kind of player but he is a few years away from being the finished article. We really need to bring a creative midfielder in as both Cesc and Nasri are off otherwise i can see us struggling to get into the top 4. Bloomin ek, we'll have over £50m to spend!!!
 
Whats with all the doom and gloom around here, not a snigle positive coment. Wilshire will improve this season, I def think he is ready. Fabregas at his best is world class, no doubt about that, but last season he was not at his best for one reason or another and Arsenal were right up there before the end of season colapse. There is life without without Fabregas.
Wilshire, given the feedom to play a more advanced role will thrive this season, our attacking options remain many and varied even without Fabregas and Nasri, if the money from these transfers is reinvested and used to strengthen the team in other areas then there is no reason why we cant have a successfull season.
 
Jack Wilshere has courage and determination to give away. What he currently lacks in skill he'll certainly make up with desire and verve.

St Macca is spot on in that if we can augment the team, regroup and strengthen our play, there's every reason to expect success from this team
