Wouldn’t know Vince never felt the need to look at other forums, get my SAFC fix on here and that’s enough for me

This it what I was told over there about supporting the same team

We do, however what I’ve said isn’t difficult to comprehend.

And it’s against the t&c’s of this board.

Depends on which way you are looking at it. For me it's just different. Good different, better, mature debates and moderation is on point. RTG has some great posters too but it's went down the pan a long time ago with the constant snide and toxic comments that get left, unmoderated. Not cool at all.

If you owned this place or RTG you would see it as a rival as you want clicks to generate income from the adds.

But as a user , I don't see it as rival. Just different.

Well I support sunderland and have done for over 60 years
Weather I read about them in papers Facebook rtg what’s app or on tv and radio
It’s the first time I’ve been told there have rivals on information forums

Aye but they are websites that have adds that generate income through traffic (user's and clicks) so guess that's where the rival aspect might come from.

    Definitely this.

RTG has a collection of knackers who like to shout certain people down but it doesn’t detract from some of the good content, for example I’m a massive follower of England women but it’s not so popular over here so I use RTG for that.

People over here are a lot more pragmatic than the shouts Sunderland Regime hating few over there as well.

I happily check both out and essentially use them as resources for news related to SAFC.
Alternatives rather than rivals, both with pros and cons.

An alternative but not a rival. Different vibe and I suspect appeals to a slightly different demographic. Never seen anyone trying to attract posters from one forum to the other.

I’m on both forums and post with same username.
I like both but this forum is more measured and respectful in debate.
I’m not sure that they are rival forums, as Sunderland fans I hope that we all want the same thing.
I’ve been exiled for nigh on a quarter of a century but either later this year or early next year I will be moving back home.
    Can’t wait.

Agreed. This is the (largely) grown up forum. RTG is where the virgin keyboard warriors expel their angst through the medium of rattling people

Glad to see that this forum is considered peaceful and constructive nowadays. It got pretty bloody ugly on here a few years back.

Hi Disco, good to see your name pop up.

There are still debates that aren't pretty but it rarely turns ugly :emoticon-0105-wink:
