Just made me think about our 'little community' of Shrews supporters and if this website failed we would lose contact with each other . There are the shrewsbury only boards http://www.shrewschat.com/ and http://blueandamber.proboards.com/ The alternative to this (and to any mod's reading this we like it here!!) is http://www.new-606.co.uk/ If all does go t%ts up on here, i will post on all three of the above!
Touch wood, this site seems fine with me. I have a problem every now & then, logging on. But I put that down to the server being too busy. I'm also on new-606 & B&A should this site ever fail, cunningly disguised as Jenny!
The last few days have been fine but there were a few issues on Thursday and Friday with me not being able to load the site at all. Overall, I think the site isn't particularly quick yet isn't slow either. I'm not on any other site (although my potential registration to B&A seems to be drawing nearer!) and I'm not on Facebook or anything - so I wouldn't be able to communicate with other Town fans that way. It'd be nice to meet a few posters off here - I think a few might be surprised! Finally, semi-off topic - has anyone had problems with Google Images - finding an image and clicking on it only for it not to load at all? And I also notice the BBC have realised where STFC really belong - on the football homepage an article on Wroe taking Penos is regarded the chief topic in League 1! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/ (scroll down a little)
What would surprise us then Lenny? I'm also on b&a but post incognito. I like to be anonymous on there, which I'm not quite on here. Not sure why really, it can be a bit feisty on there sometimes but nothing unusual in that. I've noticed this site being a bit slow lately and sometimes haven't posted as a result. Sticking with it though. Where's whatshrew these days?
That took a long time to post and I thought I was going to lose it. The site seems a bit wobbly just now.
Well just people not being how you imagine them to be, I doubt many people would be able to guess my age for example! I agree it's a little wobbly, and whilst it's not the same as 606 I've much more used to this layout now - I never posted on the old one.
this site will do me, but it is a shame only the gas, argyle and the gills contribute in this league. perhaps we shall be luckier in L1 next season. if i want any gossip/news, i will read b and a, shropshire star online and bbc 606. last saturday night not 606 was down for about 1 hour, probably caused by excited gasheads not used to winning. it does make you wonder how slow it would be if every club had a site om not 606
That's where nothing is as good as the old 606 - it had fans from every team on there! BandA links with all the other boards (I believe) and that that is possibly the next best thing, but I think there are fewer irritating premiership articles on here - always a good thing!
i forget if i am still barred from b and a. my reputation seems to precede me. just as well i only come up from deepest devon twice a year to the west stand, i would hate to upset the north stand. i could make an exception though on 14.2.12
An excellent opportunity to watch Bradders hit form with 6 goals. I can't remember exactly whom we are playing that day, I just remember something to do with walking leagues. I also remember they are not very good.
i loved the old 606, you could chop and change your user id to suit the shrews form. i have always kept to a shropshire theme ranging from the yorton bar kid, clive live and during a poor spell with simmo i was the cothercot kid. but acham jack was always my favourite and i am glad i cannot change it, sadly i will not be up in the west stand until april so the gas can relax on the 14.2.12 until the goals start flying in.
I'm Matster on all of the sites I posted at the top, and I'd recommend perhaps having a sleeper account on new6o6, shrewschat and B&A. Always useful to be able to post. Also look out for posts on the Shropshire star - STFC news comments at the end of any news article. AJ's on there a lot. Regarding B&A as they want you to use a landline based email to register (and i used hotmail) it took a polite email to a chap named Pilch to say that I was who I am and not a WUM (they have had & still have problems), told him about where I posted and he let me sign up. As mentioned above they can be a bit tetchy on there about stuff, but it isn't a multi team board such as this. I think the mod's on here changed to a new server hence the downtime of late, you might notice that your 'number of posts', 'points', 'activity' etc have stopped working which they are trying to fix at the moment.
