Ben Marshall has gone out on loan to Shrewsbury?

So much for giving the kids a chance, when we have no wing or attacking options.

    Just sign SOMEONE TONE PLEASE.

I think he has gone to Sheffield Wednesday till end of January 2012.

Shotton is proving his worth, hope he stays so yes I agree the kids need a chance.

We all know the likes of Shotton and Marshall will be treated as "kiddies" up until their very late twenties.

This is my major sticking point with Pulis - he never trusts young players. Give 'em a go Tone - you never know, they might actually be quite good.

Really disappointing. Marshall is a good, young player and he is one of the things we are desperate for, a good backup winger.

Its one of my pet hates with football in general! Home grown and young english talent should be nutured! Loan moves OK with me but no sales please!

    Agreed Jose.

By the way, does anyone know the cost of our much vaunted Academy AND annual running costs?

Can't wait for the resultant starlets to appear in the first team or perhaps in Wycombe Wanderers (no disrespect) reserve team

A little hypocritical of TP really, he made his debut aged 17.

I would give the lads a chance, Rooney and others have proved that. If you are good enough you are old enough. Kevin Francis was another who played aged 16 I think he made his first team debut!.. Also think Shotton and Moult should be given a chance too! But, we all know T.P. won't even go there. Which is why Nick is correct saying the Acadamy costs us how much?

I raised the Academy a few weeks ago when we were debating what a great job TP had done/not done! It does seem strange to invest all this money over the last 5 years (overseen by the manager) and then to off load the home grown talent! I am assuming that the Academy doesn't work (i.e. TP doesn't rate the talent)! Like I said before, I would sacrifice a little quality to hold onto home grown english talent who want to play for the club - Wilko is a prime example!

Megson said: "Marshall was fantastic. It's a feather in the cap of this club that we attracted a player like that over championship sides"
