Time for what? To make sure we would not be able to rescue the situation? Good quick decisive decision from Short and hopefully an appointment that can best utilize the current squad and maybe bring in 1 or 2 in January now.

Does make you wonder if he thought we would get relegated and PDC was the right man to get us out of the championship. PDC surprised everyone beating the mags and Everton so got a chance but did not get much money to spend in case it all went wrong.

Many of the high earners are now off the wage bill, many of the players with the wrong attitude have gone and we have a squad that is extremely fit.

It does make me wonder if this was all planned to a certain extent and they gave PDC a chance but always had someone in waiting with money to spend in Jan.

This season is going to be very interesting.
