I thought I would get up early this morning and walk the dog on the new potential village green at Horfield.

(To be honest he curled one out on the centre circle, but they will be used to **** on the pitch there!)

anyhow, when walking back through the car park I saw this creature making his way across the car park towards the stadium.

    A palmate newt.jpg

Apparently its a very rare great crested newt. and it will mean no building works can be undertaken in this area for at least 4 million years.
Imagine my shock and horror when I phoned around every person i could think of that might be duped by my scam. (I mean interested!)

Chris Packham is on the train from London as we speak

Just in case you're wondering no I didn't put it there. (honest guv!)

Was the newt in question all slimy? If so then that was probably Mr Dunfraud.

Is this the same newt that walks his dog on a regular basis across ashtonvale thus requiring village green status wherever he goes??
