Generating more shares means generating a different value of of each share? Every year some companies give out dividends and a lot of share holders would rather the stock as opposed to the cash ... dont know if this a similar line they wish follow? By opening up the ability for other parties to put money in as opposed to "donating/ loaning" ? could be a helpful revenue stream!
