https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/how-cardiff-citys-first-team-15437907 Nathaniel Mendez Laing back and scoring in the reserves.
The good news is confined to Mendez-Laing - the others are a waste of time at this level. At least Mendez will provide a more aggressive wide option than Hoilett who has seriously lost the plot this season. Whether he's a better option than Kadeem may be the obvious question, but if Murphy's form doesn't pick back up and he continues to throw himself to the ground when a defender gets anywhere near him, there's always the option of playing both. Mendez with his confidence back on one side and Kadeem who has never lacked confidence on the other, would certainly make life hard for opposition fullbacks.
I know it's "only League 2" but unless we splurge some dosh on a striker in January, I'd pull him back and include him in the second half "25". https://www.miltonkeynes.co.uk/sport/football/mk-dons/healey-a-marked-man-at-mk-dons-1-8713380
Rhys Healey has that goal scoring knack. It would be great to see him given a chance but sadly I just can’t see NW giving it to him. ps my initial thread was intended only to relate to NML as my comment inferred. I didn’t even read the rest
More good news potentially? https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...verpool-nathaniel-clyne-cardiff-loan-15444006
Good to see NML returning. Possibility for bench Saturday with Hoilett staying home? I agree with Masky, Healey is not up to this level, he doesn't have the physicality needed. He will make a very good Div. 1 and bottom half Championship player. I don't think Kadeem would make a good full back. Defence is a part of his game he has always had to work on and if you watch him he is regularly coached by other players and from the side about where to go and what to do. However, NML has a lot more awareness and frequently covers back before making his lung bursting forward runs. He also makes some good tackles whereas Kadeem's tacking is usually a card waiting to happen. NML could make a good wing back in a back 5. Clone would be a very good signing but as the article says it is a case of prioritising striker or full back for a second Prem loaner.
Warnock says NML not in contention for the weekend. Does a run of 8 games in 5 weeks help us given the rigours of the championship? PL players not used to that frequency. On the flip side, they do have more strength in depth.
Blakey’s suggestion reported in IC Wales that Ramsey should be targeted as a January loan is just wishful thinking.
Not going to happen. Also we need to be selective with our last EPL loanee. Only one pick left. Interesting that Nathaniel Clyne was mentioned. Don't see that happening either, but might be a better shout than Ramsey, especially as Colin has said he's after a defensive mid (not that Clyne is a midfielder). Think Europe loanees are more likely. Getting towards silly season again.
