Is there any doubt that Poyet is the man to take us forward?

Was just thinking back to Brighton's win over Newcastle on Saturday. Gus Poyet's team were excellent, playing well organised and skillful football and looking like they were enjoying playing for the club. He got his tactics spot on and came across in the post-match interview as intelligent and driven. He must be aware that he can only go so far at Brighton and I just hope that we appoint him as manager in the summer, before someone in the Premier League snaps him up.

Unclear yet where we'll end up this season or whether Warnock really will retire. But if he does, we should snap up Poyet at the earliest opportunity & put him on a decent length contract to build a side that will not only get us up or keep us in the PL, but will also ensure we push for a top 8 finish sooner rather than later. Newcastle may have been poor on Saturday, but Brighton played some good stuff in the process.

No! No! No! No! No! He's had his chance! He's already convinced us that he doesn't consider us to be a big club. He has no loyalty to us whatsoever. If Barnsley wave an extra tenner at him, he'll be off there, declaring he'd always wanted to manage them. He's a mercenary that's already used us as a stepping stone, and if we're foolish enough to bring him in, he'll be off again as soon as he smells money or glory.

The other thing is - he probably has a bigger budget where he is now, and absolutely no pressure/criticism. Why would he ever want to come to us?

Everyone seems to have a bigger budget than us. I doubt he'd want to leave Brighton for us anyway.

Not a big fan of Poyet and once again I can't help feel many people rate him due to his connection with the club, more than what he has achieved. There are other candidates and I would hope the new Leeds board has already commenced looking at them.

The minute Warnock spends a penny of the January transfer money I guess we can assume we are stuck with him for the remainder of the season

In answer to the post, yes there is doubt. Pointless bringing in Poyet and giving him all of gfh spare cash to spend which is nothing

We've already signed Hall, so by your reckoning we are stuck with him for the remainder of the season <ok>
