And if so how far away is it from the stadium? Ive got a voucher for a free over night stay in one. Im bringing my new lass up for the Derby game so im thinking of making the most of it. Id better cover her eyes up outside the stadium so she doesnt see the Hilton .
Is this to book in any potential new signings now that we have dropped out of the PL and can't afford Seaham Hall?
Where I used to stay, next to the Lambton worm, we met there a few times before the games, about a 15 min walk to the Stadium. Good after match area too with late bars/clubs and cracking Chinese restaurant nearby that does a decent Beef Chow mein..
Not forgetting the Londonderry - good Keel Square drinking house - I'm not totally bird brained to use its absurd name change - its always the Londonderry to me !
I was in The Peacock (Londonderry) this afternoon for lunch.. Very nice it was too.. PS.. It has totally changed from what it was previously..
Thats good but I just cannot get away with the name change - The Londonderry name added to the buildings architecture gave the pub a prescence plus it was very close to other good watering holes and you could smell it a mile off I was there a lot in my youth for the
I used to love the Derry as well, but in the last few years it became a hangout for the old drunken piss artists which stopped people going in. The revamp is a breath of fresh air in my opinion.
Last time I was in the Derry was the first time I met Mr & Mrs Jinx. It was just the first pub that came into my mind when she mentioned meeting up for a drink. Now I've never had any chow in there but they had a dress code on the door ffs! Since when was the Derry a posh place? It's always been rough as ****.
I know but I never knew it as Peacocks - anyway that's just my view more important positive stuff going on near the Colliery Tavern
