Can I stop trawling sites to pick up news of potential signings? If £20 million is wanted for N'Zogbia then surely that rules us out and things have gone very quiet about Defoe. Will Ellis be holding onto his money or is he playing poker to get another bargain or two? Anybody got inside information?
Think we'll see 1 maybe 2 more players in before the start of the season but, I think Bruce may have been told that we have got to ship out some of the deadwood first. Would like a top quality striker and LW not sure we'll get either of those so yet another CM and CB.
The way Bruce was talking about Sess the other night I reckon he's our new fill in striker until Wickham comes good. For me, I live in hope of seeing Wellbeck on loan for another season (is this still possible?), and maybe a proper left winger.
I think after the frenzy of activity last week, it will be good for all of his to take stock before any more deals are done.
Wigan won't be looking for anywhere near £20million for Zog. Whelan himself came out and said they 'can't afford not to sell...', he's unlikely therefore to price him out of a move altogether. Nobody will pay over £12million for him, and i'd wager he'll go for even less than that.
