Before he scored for Chelsea in the League cup, last season he slipped when we are playing Chelsea at Anfield, yesterday his reckless challenge left Liverpool with 10 men on the pitch. We need to be unbeaten for the rest of the season to stand a chance of finishing in the top four. I am just waking up from the nightmare.
Yes he probably has but at least we can try win all 8 remaining games rather than have 2 left last year and the big bonus is we won't have him for 3 of them as he is a liability I am hoping Ibe will be fit after the internationals to play rwb v arsenal and I hope lallana does his hamstring h playing for england
As someone else said in another thread, he was a bellend. And only made a likely defeat inevitable. The mancs were not going to relax their grip in the second half. Gerrard has been a legend for us and without him we wouldn't have any of the many trophies we've won. Players make mistakes on the pitch. I blame clueless Rodgers. He should either have played him from the start. Or not at all. We missed Gerrard's heart in that midfield from the first minute.
After some time gathering my thoughts on this , next Sunday should be the last we see of Gerrard in a Liverpool/Liverpool representative team. Hes out for the next 3 games and no way should he come back in for the last 5/8 depending on the cup run.
No game next Sunday. Next game away to Arsenal on 4th of April. Suddenly this has become an important game.
next sunday is his testimonial he's managed to take something that should have been fun and made it something i don't even want to see by his actions.
Was Gerrard stupid? Very....but did he cost us the game? No. We had ten men in the first half anyway. The questions should be....why did we even need to bring him on at half time? How did Rodgers get yesterday quite so wrong tactically? What the hell does Lallana do? How on earth does Allen get a place in a team going into what we all knew was going to be a battle of a game?
Allen got a game cos there was nobody else... gerrard would have ran baout for 10 mins max and kicked a few then ran out of steam. lets not kid ourselves. Lucas was only back from injury too. Allen is average but does his job ok, its when you play a good side that you see where he bascially reaches the end of his ability and comes up short Lallana stands in the centre circle when playing right side forward and trots up and back never quite getting into either position. It was 10 men i totally agree. He also missed a sitter that he side footed and still missed the gal off a set up off sturridge but i suppose at least he got in a good poistion once eh? rodgers got it wrong by not fixing the patently obvious issues last monday,. the entire right side was poor that game and we went 4-1-2-1-2 v swansea and got a lucky goal. Rdgers doesn't fix issues he switches things once someone is injured and if it works great he's the genius. #luckedout has been said for a long time on here... I say lucks just ran out... now he's got to change it and make it work for next game. If Ibe isn't fit we will suffer.
I disagree he had to play Allen. He would have been better served giving Pele the shirt I've never seen a player give the ball away so much and get so out fought in all the years I've been going to Anfield. Not only would I not let Gerrard near the first team again I'd push Allen into the Mersey at the first opportunity I got.
people say i give the lad no credit ever. well.... there is a reason why i keep saying he is average. on his day he has a use to us. But against any top 4 rival he's not good... utd were on him like a rash and fair play to them for doing it. he's control was so sluggish they could be on top of him before he ever got a chance but i cannot see lucas doing better, especially after a while out.

Skrtel's absence for the next 3 games when he gets a ban this week, will be just as costly as Gerrard's red imo.
It won't matter as Skrtel plays the easiest position of the 3 centre backs apparently we'll shove Lovren in there and all will be well...
If Skrtel gets banned then so does The Gay. He struck Skrtel in the stomach with a fist after their coming together. Personally I think it was handbags but the letter of the law will mean The Gay gets a ban for striking an opponent. or will the FA stop the video the instant Martin's leg comes down on The Gay

There are several things rodgers could do in skertls absence. The least of which is can at centre and lovern at rcb. He could drop the 3-4-3 not its found out and he has not rwb. He could go diamond again with can in CM and johnson at rb for example.
