Don't see why not. He would be a real handful for most Championship defences but would he take the step down and could we afford him? If loaned perhaps TP would do a 50/50 on the wages front with a bullet end payment if he helped get us up?

Always have my doubts about past players returning. Cam was quick and hungry when he was with us, but just lacked that bit of calm and coolness that a quality striker needs. If he had that, he'd be on everyone's wanted list.

Though Stoke are doing well, I can't see Pulis letting him go on loan without an instant recall clause until they are mathematically safe.

Crouch had his teeth knocked out the other day and Owen is no use at all. If either KJ or Walters get a bump, he'll be heading back to Stoke - NOT what we need at all if we've banked on him.

Same could be said of any loanee I suppose, but if we could get him (or someone like him) on a fixed half season basis, that'll do.

I understand what you mean about returning players Spark, but, and it's a big but, if Cam hit the floor running with the sort of supply he would get from an attack minded team, imagine what's possible. I think he would more likely be a short term loan, but who's to say Pullis isn't going to be searching for a new striker as well? I get the feeling Cam is getting frustrated with having splinters in his arse every week.

Stoke are doing OK in the table with a very mean defence. Despite being in the top half of the Prem, I think they're the lowest scorers in the entire division.

With that defence, getting hold of a quality striker in January could push them toward a Europe spot next season. I think you might be right and they will splash a bit of cash to go for it. That might mean selling someone like Cam to fund it.

Could be a brilliant capture for us or equally a disaster with the initial purchase cost and ongoing wage committment. I'm really not sure if Cameron coming back is the answer for us - splinter rash on his arse or not.

Not sure if you've seen this on the bbc website, but it seems like we are not going to be that busy in Jan.

Any thoughts? Is it just Malky playing his cards close to his chest or do we really not need any other players?

Malky is a good poker player and the Malaysians are inscrutable so we don't have a cats chance in hell of first guessing them.

We will continue to try though. <ok>

    Saw that Nat, but saying..........

"There won't be much business done in January," Mackay said.

    .....doesn't mean "no" business.

One arrival might be enough. <ok>
