A few people on Kent Online are complaining that they cannot get their seat for the game on Saturday because either they sit in the Rainham End or because their seat in the Medway Stand has already been taken as season ticket holders did not get priority for this game. Now although I personally think that they should have opened up the Rainham End for this game, is it really that big a deal that you don't get your seat that you are not going to a cup quarter final (area semi) when the tickets are only £12? The problem with them not opening up the Rainham End to start with is that they are stuck in a circle because they do not want to open the Rainham End until more people go, but more people are not going to go unless they can sit in the Rainham End. Back to the original title of this post, I don't see sitting in my seat a problem. I have sat in various different places across the Medway Stand (Block G further back and near the front and Block C (Where my season ticket is)) and in the various different seats I have sat in, none of them have been so bad I have thought "I'm not sitting here again". If my seat was not available for the JPT game (although I am sitting somewhere else anyway so that I can sit with someone else for this game) I wouldn't moan and grumble about I would just get a seat near - by or maybe even try sitting in a different part of the stand/ground.
Putting aside any logistics behind this decision... Many supporters of a certain age like myself have spent 40 years trying most areas of the ground. Therefore we choose our seat out of preference foe various reasons. Obviously if mr scally is happy to give up hos preffered seat for me...then i will be only too obliging
I'm annoyed to be honest that my seat was sold instanaeously, not on to be honest. I think we should have at least had a couple of days grace on getting our own seats.
Annoying as it was to lose my season ticket seat, I have to admit that the atmosphere in a full Medway Stand was better than I think it might have been with a 25% occupation rate across four stands. The trouble was nobody told the caterers and we had the one outlet which opened being completely overrun. Somebody needs a big kick up their rs. Decent workmanlike performance today with Ehren/Egan/Legge immense but still toothless up front. Norris was awful but still better than German.
Good to see the Gills in the area final...bristol407 as for the catering...i was not there yestetday but nice to knoe nothing ever changes despite my complaints directly to the club. mr scally likes to make comments that we hide behind usernames...we dont and maybe i might be able to find an old email or teo if stretched to do so. Come on mr chairman sort the catering ppl out...we are fed up with experiencing it and complaining about it.
I`m not a season Ticket holder, but I sit in block C for every game I can get to,so as long as I can sit somewhere in there I am happy.Usually it is Seat 59,Row E,but I don`t mind other areas in the block.
In answer to Gio, Egan and Hessy junior just shared the right back role between them and were always in control.
thanks bristol. sounds like another poor display from the Gills especially going forward. only 1 shot on target. at least we won and only 2 legged final then wembley. not sure if that is good or bad as we are in a relgation scrap.
You are being unkind gio. Gills looked well organised with a dominant back three and they just swamped Orient in midfield. Up front was a bit different. Dickerson seemed worth his place but the only threat came from Loft and Dack breaking through from midfield. Norris tried but did not win a thing in the air and seemed overawed. He did show a flash of ability in a 30 second burst where he made a crunching midfield tackle, had a minor dustup with the Orient player, sprinted into the penalty area to hit a spectacular volley inches wide before going back into his shell. Cody was little better when he came on but I think still posed a little more threat. On yesterday's performance Gills looked a decent striker short of a midtable side but if some of these kids develop they could become a real force. The trouble is every team wants a good young striker and who would want to join a team with no money. Success is still going to rely on patience and a combination from Cody's form, Kedwell's knee and somebody like Norris learning how to score.
I wish i could be more positive but it seems like every game is the same with if defence does not play well we are going to lose. We need the midfielders and strikers to be more positive and attack more because we cannot always rely on defence in this league.
