Is it just me?
As Gore Vidal said 'every time a friend succeeds a little something in me dies'.
I was on the treadmill tonight watching Sky Sports when Alan Pardew announced that Remi had a calf strain. It cheered me up no end.
There is something about Pardew's North and South that is really fishy. If anyone has caught a rubbery monkfish you would know what I am on about. Last time I saw a mouth like that it had a hook in it. I hope Remi winds the fat sweaty geordies up and ponces around all season like the Gallic tart he is.
And Adel was booed by a squadron of Ruperts. Brilliant news that!. And that ginger cretin Sidwell has already started nagging him. I hope Adel's gap year at the Michael Jackson Stadium is a complete mare and he throws a hissy fit and goes on the cous cous and pipe down the Edgware Road.
And Hooper has picked up an injury before the six fingered season even starts.
Am I the only one who needs to see the trick cyclist or am I just bitter and twisted.
Anyway.
So far so good and long may it continue.

That 35 year old kraut has been would make a welcome change from the bunch of Stefans you've been signing in recent years.

I was wondering though, when was the last time a Championship (or foreign equivalent) side had as many players loaned out to top flight sides as you've got?

I enjoyed that rebel. Very funny. 'A Squadron of Ruperts.' I'll have to use that one on my Fulham supporting in-laws when they're next around.

Lazy performances are not tolerated here, Sidwell warns Fulham new boy Taarabt

Adel Taarabt has been welcomed at Fulham by Steve Sidwell’s warning that ‘lazy’ performances will not be tolerated.
The Morocco international signed a season-long loan deal at Craven Cottage after telling QPR he wanted to play in the Premier League.
But Sidwell wasted no time in making clear that the 24-year-old’s skill would have to be matched by work rate.

Taarabt was often accused at Loftus Road of concentrating solely on attack, meaning his new Fulham team-mates may need to prepare for more defensive running.
‘That’s the general joke going around the training ground at the minute,’ conceded Sidwell. ‘Listen, it’s just part and parcel of players’ make-up. You’ve got some who’ve got tremendous talent on the ball and their work rate off it isn’t great.
‘Then you’ve got some who’ve got the great work rate but not as good on the ball. You try to accommodate each others’ strengths. Everyone’s got to work for the team. It doesn’t matter who you are, you can’t be lazy, everyone’s got to put the work rate in.

‘I’m sure (Martin Jol) is going to emphasise that to players this season. If they don’t I’m sure he’ll pull them up. But you don’t want to take that away from their strengths.’
Sidwell also revealed Fulham players first met new owner Shahid Khan when the American businessman made a flying visit in his private jet to the squad’s pre-season training base in Costa Rica.
‘He was in Florida at the time – not round the corner but a short plane journey,’ Sidwell said. ‘He came to the hotel, introduced himself to the guys, watched our game that evening and then shot back.

‘I assume once the season starts he’ll be coming to games and having an input on what he owns. ‘Once the takeover happened, and we found out who it was, the boys were digging deep and going through contacts and getting a bit of know-how; finding out what he’s done with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
‘Brede Hangeland, the manager and some of the staff went to Jacksonville to see him and they just had big praise for him and what he’s done over there. I assume he’s wanting to do the same for Fulham.’

A Man after my own heart ............ Yes, you are indeed twisted and welcome to the club
I too, had heard Remy had stretch / strained a muscle but it was a little higher up than the calf.

On behalf of all 'reppers,' please accept some rep from a like minded bitter, twisted R'rsss supporter.

Before you start, you need to remember you're still a championship side! Should you survive this season and stay up, then you can call yourself premiership, when you've earned it! until then you're still a promoted championship side flirting with the big boys.........

I'm not starting though, I thought the general view was that if the talented players you'd signed after promotion weren't such great Stefans (Euro 96 reference for anyone who missed it first time round and doesn't know what we're saying) and had half the attitude towards things your old Championship players had then you'd still be in the PL?

As far as the loans question goes, Wolves might end up competing with you for most loans to higher division sides. Hennessey gone on loan to Yeovil, they might end up loaning us Doyle if we're not prepared to match his current wages and he's not prepared to drop his demands, only takes a couple more to want Championship football and the contest is on.

Great OP. Thanks Rebel. I'm not so much worried about other teams' bad luck as our better judgments/ signings/ luck. Long wait til Saturday.
