"help sort out the mess". What that comes down to is selling players at a cut price to pay the taxman. Exactly what else has he done? Made public we were skint and by how much. No **** Sherlock we didn't know that already although to be fair not by how much. I am not convinced he has truthfully done anything that you or me could not have done. No magic wand, no financial super being in the wings with wedges of cash, not found an investor. Earned a small fortune is about the sum total that I can see. I would have done what he has done for nothing.

Just a question why exactly do people hate Peter Ridsdale on these boards?

Because they've got to blame someone aka............they can remember the past .........but not six months ago when he actually told it as it was.....and helped stop the rot.

That's unfair sensible............money was desperate.......and in a buyers market you can only get what is offered..........if it hadn't been Ridsdale it would of been someone else...........we where literally all looking down the backs of our sofas for lose change........it was that or the Taxmans noose.

I accept that plyborn if not him then indeed it would have been somebody. But that wasn't really the point I was making so perhaps should not have added on the cheap. What I was saying was that his contribution was not a lot if you add it all up. Ok we will stick to selling a few players. No more than anyone else would have done anyway. Telling us we were skint. Ok up till then it wasn't official but we knew we were in trouble if not by how much. Now we come to the negative bits. Supporting Heaney after being instrumental in hiring his mate the Administrator. Why? To try to gain the club is the truth there. Now, always supported Brent??????? Not heard him utter a word in that direction until it was clear his co-hort was not going to buy in. Whilst I am not in the lets hate it because it was Ridsdale who did it camp, I don't think his contributions should be over stated either. Maybe he didn't do anything wrong but my gut feeling was it was only a matter of time before he did. I would much rather an Argyle without him but would have taken an Argyle with him if that was all that was on offer. His history is far too chequered for my liking.

Hi sensible..........thought your cupboard door had jammed on you..........or had your beloved wedge the chair under the handle..........well you have recovered I hope from the dabacle on Sat.

Well we assume that Ridsdale is still leaving when it's done and dusted,I can't be sure personally.

Brent then needs to find a top dog to take over the day to day running of the club, that isn't going to be easy on a limited salary and a very small budget.

If Ridsdale goes then I am not worried about that........I can live with or without him........but I would thank him for helping us through this sticky time.

Who ever comes in will need a lot of savvy.............because with a new owner the battle is just starting to save Argyle from non-League football.

The damage done to PAFC in the last three years is vast and must not be under estimated.

New structure and guide lines for growth and recovery will take time to come to fruition.

A hell of a manager will be needed to turn the playing staff around, those that he keeps of course.

What I'm saying is we cannot gambol on Fletcher........three subs to play on Saturday and he only plays one and that wasn't a tactical change even then. takes Soukouna off because of an injury that he had previously...........no subs on to change the game.......against ten men, who should of been tiring with the effort that they had put in to turn the game.

PAFC must not drop out of the League........financially it's dire now........in the conference it would be far worse........it would mean down grading everything again to a lower level of anticipation...........if you think it's bad now then you havn't seen anything yet.

You can say Exeter and Torquay have been there and come back........and I would say well done to them for overcoming.

How do you say this without upsetting Exeter and Torquay........Plymouth are a more major club than either of them and the shock waves would be huge for Plymouth to get relegated again.........it sounds a bit big headed saying such a thing..........and it could be said that your only as good as your League position now.......forget the past and live in the present.

I just say the harder you fall the harder it will be to recover...........Certain Directors of the past have so much to answer for.

I've already vented my spleen regarding Saturday and I will take a bit of convincing regarding Fletcher as Manager. But, for better or worse he is so I will back him and the team with my presence which is about all I can offer. Sadly plymborn a further relegation is not unthinkable. In truth it is what a lot of us who have been watching are already half believing already. I don't want to think that and am hoping upon hopes it isn't going to happen but we spent too long in the clouds before with everything crossed. I almost find it better to be pessimistic than optomistic right now and just hope I'm wrong.

I can't say Peter Ridsdale would be my first choice dinner guest (he probably doesn't like cod and chips straight out of the paper anyway) but I'm not sure we would have survived without him. I believe that he was being well paid when others were getting nothing but if Brent decides to keep him on for a while then I think it would do the club more good than harm. Now I'll duck beneath the parapet!

I don't hate the guy I would just rather we had somebody, lets say, more respectable. We have had enough of duckers and divers. I have not said he has done anything wrong or bad at Argyle. I just don't think he has done anything startling that many others could not have done. Therefore to give him a saviour's tag is a little OTT. Brent will need somebody on the footballing side it's true and if it is Ridsdale then I think Brent is astute enough to have done his homework and have more than half an eye on the proceedings.
