Heard a rumour last week that Radrizzani is selling Leeds, but ignored it as the bloke was pissed - he told me it was to a bloke called Zaw Zaw - never heard of him and totally forgot about it. please log in to view this image Then ealier today I heard the exact same thing today from someone that wasn't pissed and is usually correct with info. So I got home and did a bit of digging on this Zaw Zaw bloke. Turns out that he is worth $5 billion. He is from Myanmar (would explain the ridiculous tour) He owns AYA (the firm sponsoring the Leeds tour) He met with Radrizanni in January and has seen several Leeds games Apologies if this has already been discussed and probably a load of cack but you never know!! He was with Radrizanni at the QPR game as Cellino's guest beore Rad bought the 50% stake so he might already have invested please log in to view this image .
interesting one, bloke does have a big interest in football, On 30 April, 2013, he was presented the State Excellence Award of the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar for being one of the top taxpayers in the country. [1 That probably rules us out,we only seem to attract dodgy owners. Evening geezer.
Evening Este As i said, probably cack, but 2 diferent people have said same now in a week and I genuinely didn't know who he was till today!!
Ahem... AYA bank is owned by the Myanmar tycoon Zaw Zaw, who was blacklisted by the US for being a crony of the former military regime. He is a close ally of Suu Kyi and the government, and is alleged to be one of the biggest funders of a controversial programme to rebuild Rahkine which is thought will have little benefit for the Rohingya community if they are allowed to return.
I realise who started this thread and in any case it’s just speculation on a footie forum, but fck me this sounds bad if it is true
Football league announcement: “We are disgusted and disappointed that once again Leeds United are besmirching the good name of football by seeking to sell to such a man ... what’s that you say.... a cheque for how much? As I was saying, the football league are delighted to confirm that mr zaw zaw has passed the fit and proper test with flying colours”
At a guess, Radz has Asian investors in his consortium, and he's also connected to Asian companies because of his Asian football interests by way of Televised rights etc. If Radz didn't know Zaw Zaw, who contacted who? Myanmar probably wouldn't get any big prem teams to go there, so at a guess, again, this tour is about promoting football around that area; it's possible it could be to get a foot in door for Televised and / or internet rights in the countries surrounding, above and below Myanmar / Burma, such as Nepal, Bhutan, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia and Phillipenes etc if he's not already there, and China's just over border, and India's on left side. Just an assumption based on why we would go to Myanmar, and not any other more professional countries.
