Taylor seems to think our first goal was a defensive error and he is partly right, my problem is he doesn't mention Kedwell failing to put pressure on the keeper to prevent him running up field and making the pass into a dangerous area. Defenders clearly got it wrong but had we put pressure on the ball earlier the situation would never have arisen, as with last season we need to work harder all over the pitch when we lose the ball.

I get your point in the posting grumpy, but I can't see what PT failing to mention something in his media interviews has to do with his tactical awareness? As if failing to see Kedwell not pressuring or failing to mention it means he is tactically unaware?

I reckon with the 40 years of playing, coaching and managing experience he has, the jobs he has successfully gained, and the promotions he has won, PT is either extremely tactically aware, or he is a very good con-man and plain lucky :)

I can't see Keds or any player for that matter wanting to hare down a keeper in a friendly, different story all together come August 9th.

From where I was, it looked like a slip from Borrowdale rather than a defensive error per se but i could easily be wrong.

Not having seen the goal it is hard to comment, but I am sure that there was a long list of things that went wrong defensively and you can only look at one issue at a time. PT just opted to look at the lack of communication in the back four.

So what you are saying Grumpy is that as the team under Hess' guidance at Faversham won then he must be a better tactical coach?

It's a preseason friendly, used for getting fitness and trying things. The result isn't important. Whether good or bad a lot will be taken from both games. How PT takes things forward is what is important.
