After the game I heard Pards say that playing two young lads up front didn't work and that it was his fault.
Fair play to the bloke for admitting he was wrong.
I have no issue if anyone makes a mistake and then comes out and says so.

 

I think the strength of feeling and the abuse last season genuinely shocked him and I'd be surprised if he didn't try and show a lot more humility towards the fans. I'm not sure it will be enough for many, but then again we're all capable of having short memories if he gets the team winning. We'll see...

 

The main feeling I have is that Ashley won't run the club so black and white this year. If Pardew fcks around as per the norm he'll be shot.

 

He has definitely tried to shoulder the blame himself by saying he made the wrong decision but in doing so many fans are jumping all over him saying he's destroying Ayoze and Armstrong's confidence. To be honest, he can't win - no matter what he says he will get slated one way or the other.

 

Agree with this. I know it's not what you're saying, but those saying it will destroy their confidence, just like those who analysed every word last season, don't take into account that what is said in public and what is said in private will be two different things. I'm under no illusions that he's not the best manager in the world, but I don't believe he's so bad that he won't be building up those he has to no matter what is said in public.

I haven't said otherwise. I am simply pointing out that it makes no difference. I have been a Newcastle supporter long enough to know our support. We are fickle as **** (like 99% of football supporters). Once we hate someone, they are hated forever. You only have to look at when we started doing well last season. He got no credit at all. Yet when things go wrong, its all his fault. Its comical. Look at the HBA situ, the lad is an absolute cock end. Some fans are happy to ignore the obvious in favour of having another stick to beat Pardew with. Again comical. Our support is fantastic. It has been numerous for a long time despite zero success or a trophy. However I am not blinkered enough to think we don't have our faults.

I've seen it so often with managers, when the mind is made up thats it done. I think Pardew could win a cup and he'd still be hated. As I say, just the way it is and has always been here.

You do not seem to understand the basics of how our club works. The non cup policy is a CLUB/BOARD policy. Therefore any manager employed by the club will have to go along with this.
