Serious question. In Hull many fans cannot think dispassionately about stuff due to the name change controversy.
Tan seems to generate the same reaction in Cardiff
My concern is that MM has spent a shed load of money which imo should see you mid table.I think managers should not be sacked during the season but under the present system many clubs would be considering sacking MM on the basis of results set against money spent.

I don't think we can't argue with that, however there are thoughts that some of the less able transfers were not part of Malky doing.

Of course there is no concrete proof, and we also need to realise that even AF got many wrong.

Malky is doing as expected given the squad we have. With regard to money spent, well that's a bit more difficult, with regard to Medel, Caulker and Theo, in my opinion it was money well spent. Cornelius, well the jury is out as we haven't seen enough of him.
Now Malky as a manger brings differing views based on his tactics and management. Personally I think he should be more attack minded but he needs to keep us in the premiership. His tactics may prove justified if we stay up or vilified if we go down. Who'd be a manager heh.

Think Malky is doing well, forget about money spent - it didn't help QPR! But all the bullshit over the past few weeks could have totally scuppered any team, that he has managed to keep them competitive is testament to his man management and motivational skills - the second half against Liverpool was a case in point, if decisions and luck had gone your way you could have got something out of that game - as it was you gave Suarez and co one hell of a shock.

Maybe MM should be more attack minded, but that could lead to gaps at the back that would be exploited and punished at this level - and remember that you are still relatively new to this division.

You are 15th at the minute with two home games up next that you could get points from - I think that is commendable at this point in the season, especially with all the unrest that you have had to deal with - the fact that Mackay has kept himself and his players focussed speaks volumes about the man - he also has balls of steel, the way he has conducted himself on and off the field and fought his corner has been a joy to watch and a breath of fresh air in the mercenary arena that is Premier League football.

I think the way that the fans, and the football community as a whole, backed Malky through this whole debacle shows what a diamond you guys have managing your club. Just look at some of the results you have had FFS!

So glad that he is still in the job and I think you should all continue to back him 100%.

Cartoon - I don't think there's any question that he shouldn't be backed by Cardiff supporters - the guy seems as committed as you'l get in this game. That doesn't mean he shouldn't be questioned about his tactics and team selection. Some on here and a lot more in the stands are getting a bit cheesed off at the apparent negativity that he shows through both those facets of the game.

On the "money spent/return" argument, there appears to be some holes in the defence of Malky's "flawless" dealings, but there are suggestions of over the top payments for questionable players. Cornelius could be mega in this division - he could be **** - who knows? Until he plays and gets into full match fitness, we wont. The "one for the future" comment about him from Malky was unfortunate to say the least, and was bound to rile Tan. He put up that money to keep us up, not spend £8M of it on future prospects.

The least said about the £2.5M for Brayford the better. I think Malky and Moody had chased the player for a while - they should have got that one right.

On balance, if we'd asked Malky at the start of the season to get us half a dozen points clear of the bottom 3 by Christmas, and that's still very possible, we'd have taken that all day.

While God was resting on the 6th day, MM was busy building a team that would take us to a cup final, win the championship with points to spare, and after a lifetime out in the cold get us into the PL. Add to that he has kept us out of the bottom 3 in this league and you can see what an excellent manager he has been for us.
Truth is Malky is playing some of the most negative football I've seen considering the players we have, they may not be world beaters but our players have tremendous guts for a fight, and when allowed to. they can give anyone a fright.
I would prefer we went through this season with Malky at the helm, but I have big question marks over him.
If he continues with the negative play and results go against us, the same who were chanting for him not to be sacked will be singing for him to be sacked,

Very few managers have come up with a team and stayed up. Either the manager has changed mid term or they go back down.

17th or above will be seen as an acheivement. Irrespective of salaries and what is in and out of budget, we appear to have spent just over £30M on transfers, a significant sum. However, if you go into the top 6, teams are spending that on one player. We are nowhere near that level. If Tan is expecting us to compete into the top half on what we have spent, he is deluded.

We got promoted with a largely championship standard set of players with a lot of organisation. That get's you so far, then you need some quality. It takes a number of transfer windows to get the quality you need in. Think of West Ham who spent £5M on one player when they came down, kept all their big earners, and still needed the play offs to go up.

I think MM over acheived in his first season was at the higher end of what was expected last year and is doing a good job this year. We want a bit more flair and more attack, but he's grinding out the points we need.

Don't think he'll be with us next year, but if he had a couple more signings next season I'd expect to see better.
