He said he doesnt agree with retrospective action and I tend to agree.

At the end of the day Ivanovic will now be banned after an offence vs wigan but this will not help wigan at all! He will now in fact miss the QPR game.

I don't think that is fair on Wigan. I think retrospective action should be an immediate 2 game ban and the next game vs that club. So ivanovic would miss the next 2 games and whenever his team is due to play Wigan next.

This would make things fairer in my opinion. What do you think?

It doesn't help Wigan but the next player to get a ban prior to a Wigan game will miss the game against them so it kind of evens itself out.

I don't mind the idea of a 2 game ban then a ban in the next game against say Wigan but that game may never come if say Wigan were relegated or the player transferred abroad or something.

Thing is, FA our somewhat inconsistent about their retrospective actions.

They've brought action against Ivanovic which is fair enough but they are saying they are not bringing action against Balotelli as incident was seen by an official at the time (which Song must feel very comfortable to know).
Here's the thing though, the FA did bring action against Ben Thatcher a few years back, giving him an 8 match ban even though the ref had given him a yellow card at the time.

    This is just one instance.

Everything I've seen from the FA in the last few years tells me I shouldn't trust them to run a cake stand at a church fete, let alone allow them to be in charge of our national game.

Coupled with the corruptness and incompetance of Sebb Blater and his mob its a wonder the game has survived.

But the FA overturn red cards. They must've been seen by officials for them to give them in the first place. just another excuse for the FA to hide behind a rule that doesn't exist!
