Just read an interesting article which suggest Max Gradel is up for transfer. Max Gradel is reportedly set to be sold by Saint-Etienne in January. Could he return to Leeds United? Things are looking positive at Leeds United at the moment. They are definitely in with a shout of promotion this season, GFH Capital have secured the clubs finances and recently consolidated new investment and young starlet Alex Mowatt has signed a new deal until 2017. After some tough times it is looking like things are finally on the up for the club. SEE ALSO: Wednesday are looking in the wrong places; Are Leeds more than a one man team? Manager Brian McDermott believes this is the end of Leedsâ recent selling days when it comes to their top players: âOver the years Leeds United have sold so many players - and I know all about that because it happened to me at Reading. Itâs happened to Leeds over a long period of time and I know the supporters are nervous about it. But with the people weâve got in charge now I donât think thatâll be the case anymore, I really donât.â So if keeping players is the start, when do they start bringing them in? One player who would be a popular arrival would surely be Max Gradel. But he has moved on. An Ivory Coast international, playing in Ligue 1 with Saint-Etienne - the 26-year-old flying wingerâs days at Elland Road are in the past. Or are they? His French club have reportedly put him up for sale this week as they look to bring in Guillaume Hoarau from his Chinese nightmare with Dalian Aerbin in January - so they must now consider ways of cutting the wage bill before doing so. Gradel has recently recovered from an injury which kept him out of action for a number of months and has only played a handful of games for the club this season. With a World Cup coming up and Gradel dreaming of being in attendance with The Elephants he needs first-team football - so why not return to the club where he had two great seasons? Obviously cost would be an issue. Investment is due but whether it would be enough to actually sign the player is another question entirely. But a loan deal which saw Leeds take on a share of his wages for the season might just be perfect. Would a Max Gradel return send Leeds United to the Premier League?

FFS why does someone always want to sign our ex players back up. He was good for us at the time, we have moved on, and so has he. Trying to repeat former glory hardly ever works. There is not one ex player I would resign.
Because we know what we would get with them, and yes dream of Max coming back not bothered about any of the others.
Not on our budget you wouldn't. I would regenerate Billy B. John C. and clone Eddie G. And that's about it.

The YEP today has run a story saying that we have opened takes with St Etienne several weeks ago about bringing Max back, he is reportedly earning £20,000 a week, over the last year he has had problems with injuries and might be a bit of a gamble, but our former "Player of the Year" has said he would be open to a return one day.
I'll be honest, if we somehow managed to bring Max back (which I don't think we can anyway) then I think my opinion of McD will go down. I understand why people want him to come back, he has pace and is very direct in attacking the full back and so on. However, he was far from the finished article when he left us, he still had tantrums, his passing and team play was poor. In fact his decision making in general was shocking and didn't really track back very well and when he did he mostly gave away free-kicks. He has had injuries since then and I just think it'd be a gamble on a type of player that isn't really worth it. I think he worked because of Grayson's style and would really have my doubts about him being successful second time round. I'd prefer if we looked at someone like Mackay-Stevens (although i think Nahki Wells should be priority).
