Simple really. Should we try and land Miroslav Klose on a free from Bayern? I would say absolutely yes.

Although I think I'm right in saying that he's never been prolific at club level, he clearly has talent - you don't get to be the second time World Cup goalscorer of all time without that. At 32 years old he would be ideal on a free and our midfield will be able to give him excellent service, assuming we keep Modric and the like.

I just have a feeling that he could be big for us if we got him, and would love to see him at the club.

    Thoughts?

I've thought we should go for him as soon as I heard he would be available. Think he'd suit us down to the ground - he's like a Crouch with talent and strength.

Klose is 32?? Jes lads hes been around forever hasnt he.

To be honest theres not many names you could come up with that I'd think would be worse than what we've seen last season.

I know he's not ancient, but I wouldn't want to pay too much for a player over 30 who has no prem experience thats all. Nothing to lose on a free though so it's all good

I would only take him in addition to our striker targets, not as a replacement for them <ok>

I still think we need 2 young strikers, hopefully a big name striker that will show our ambition for next season <ok>

Completely agree. Crouch has played his part for us over the past few seasons but his time is up I feel, especially if we land Klose. If we were to get two other new strikers then we would probably have to let one of Pav or Defoe go, and for me we say bye to Defoe. IMHO Pav is the best of our current bunch

It's no coincidence that the only really decent games 3mP has had have been in Europe (or for England against pony Oppos). Every Tom, Dick & Alex knows how to deal with his 'threat' and nullify him out of the game.

    Rafa made him look good!

He might be the answer to the Damaio conundrum.
Sign Klose for nothing, agree a deal with Internacional for the Brazilian for January and then we're covered for now and we have an extremely experienced player who can teach the youngster the ropes in the new year.

Sell Crouch, Defoe, Keane and Dos Santos though and we're still lacking in firepower.

I think you might want to google the player to see just what sort of season he has had before touting him here....utter rubbish!. Someone said he couldn't be worse tha what we have...1 goal in the 'slow' Bundesliga.

WC football in the summer is a much slower pace, and is nothing like the premier league.

I cant really see him coming to us, he is in the last few years of his career and he would demand a starting place every game <ok>

Everton are in for him as well, and they are in need of a striker more than we are! They just let someone go to Norwich didn't they? And he would get a starting place there too <ok>

1 goal in the 'slow' Bundesliga.

jes really? Well I'm judging him by his International record I suppose. Theres probably some lads in Germany right now having this conversation about Crouch saying hes quality look at the goals hes scored for England <laugh>

Klose would be a great free transfer. He's a proven talent, and scores bags of goals, which we need more than anything

Going by the English version of Bayern's website, I think that Klose only started 9 games and was subbed off in 6 of those.
That tells it's own story, admittedly.

Gomez scored 28 in 32 league games for them, though.
    Impressive.

It's not like the style of play in Bundesliga is a million miles from the Premier League, so there's no reason to believe he won't adapt. Also, there's two advantages - he's on a free and Bundesliga wages are low compared to the Premiership, so we won't be annihilating our wage structure by bringing him in.

If he can give a guiding hand to Pav and some of our younger players coming through, that's a bonus.
