Is John Guidetti the man to replace QPR's injured Andy Johnson?
With Andy Johnson ruled out for most of if not all of this season, Mark Hughes now faces a predicament in who to replace him with, despite QPR's plethora of strikers, and could just go back into the market in January.

After signing on a free transfer in June, Johnson made an impressive start to his QPR career, before his progress was abruptly halted following a knee injury sustained against Chelsea that could see him miss the majority of the season.

Reports suggest that Hughes could move for 20-year-old Manchester City striker John Guidetti, and having scored 20 goals for Feyernoord last season the striker is available for a loan deal, allowing him to be brought to Loftus Road in time for the second half of the Premier League season.

Andy Johnson signed a two-year deal at QPR this summer after the Premier League club narrowly avoided relegation last season, and was hoped to partner Bobby Zamora in a new-look strike force. However, following anterior cruciate knee ligament damage, Johnson will be unable to play a huge part in this season’s campaign.

Featuring for the full 90 minutes against Manchester City, Johnson had only been given 45 more minutes of football for his new club since his arrival this summer, and has failed to get on the score sheet. However, the once-England international’s role in the club had looked promising in keeping the team afloat.

The news will be a blow to QPR fans, but with Bobby Zamora scoring two goals in three appearances for the Hoops, they definitely still have one in-form striker at their disposal. Yet banking on Zamora being fit for every game is risky business, and with both Djibril Cisse and Jamie Mackie – or any other QPR player for that matter – yet to score this season, it seems new recruits may be needed soon rather than later.

Step up John Guidetti. The super Swede, just 20-years-old and likened already to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has managed an astonishing 20 goals and eight assists in 23 starts for Feyernoord during his loan move there last season. Whilst only appearing in one competitive match for Manchester City, his assist during their League Cup third round victory over West Brom contributed to the game’s only goal. Having also spent an albeit brief time on loan at Burnley, to which he made five appearances and scored on his debut, Guidetti could be a useful addition to the QPR team.

Fundamentally though, it will be up to Mark Hughes to decide whether a replacement for Johnson is needed, and if Guidetti is the man for this task. With the transfer window shut until January, Hughes has time on his hands to decide if an extra player is needed, and still has plenty of time to re-assess his options

Agree...but he needs to be given game time to prove his worth.

Would suggest its time for all of the attacking midfielders to step up <ok>

DJ Campbell, anyone? It's a shame he's not in the 25.
