Barton is very underrated. A great talent - squad potential at least. People always rave about Germany and their midfield yet they've won **** all. No better than us

Gerrard, Wilshire, Cleverley, Barkley, Carrick, Lallana, Osman, Ravel Morison, James Ward-Prowse ... all better than Joey Barton ... and your "won **** all" comment is actually rather puerile ... after all, Spain are the only European national team that has won anything in the last six years, but it's actually about the 'now' rather than history ... and Germany are right up there ... and currently far ahead of us ... we'll need to gamble big time in Rio to get anywhere near them ... certainly won't if we have Lampard, Terry and co still in the team ...... or Joey Barton anywhere near the squad.

Clearly you just hate Chelsea. We'll beat Germany next month, just watch. Germany were ****e in the last euros. We're on the rise and can beat anyone on our day.

Potential central midfielders in the squad for world cup: Lamps, Wilshere, Barkley, Joey B, Carrick - with that little lot plus maybe Rav Morrison if he progresses we'll be a force.

Have no particular feelings towards Chelsea one way or another, but we can't play both Gerrard and Lampard in the same team in Rio (if we do we'll get overrun) and John Terry and Rio Ferdinand are past their sell bys ... personally I'd experiment with Carrick as a centre-back (would be good to have a centre-half genuinely comfortable with the ball); Jagielka and Cahill will get taken apart as a pair ... Barton won't be on the plane and rightfully so.
