Is it permitted for someone to own more than one club at a time here ? (WHY LOOK IT UP WHEN YOU GUYS ARE THE FONT OF ALL KNOWLEDGE FOOTY WISE ! )

Anyway if it is or not im sure if it was financially viable then some oily-garth bloke would try it ! or has it been done before ?

So thinking out of my box :emoticon-0181-fubar hypotheticaly i buy say Man utd and Arsenal or Man city so i own 2 top squads enabling favourable deals between my 2 clubs possibly concentrating the most powerful to challenge for the big money cups and the other to mop up the rest while dissadvantaging other teams that are a threat to my bigger money team by hook or by crook. And by all methods possible i sew up the prem and possible cup games by only having to beat the foreign teams who are also on the radar to knobble if the moneys big enough.
If government, banks and big buisness can get away with mass corruption then i dont see footy getting away with being squeeky clean do you ?

Would the money from all competitions and tv, crowds, ads, spin offs etc etc.. be worth such a huge investment ?

This may be a bit garbled and wild but you get my drift i hope ?<whistle>

    Not allowed dude. Simple :)

It is banned to prevent any integrity issues. You can be a shareholder in 2 clubs though (not major shareholder though)

Well I suppose it would be a big step up from just plain old match fixing to tuck the bookies up ?

    It's really, really not allowed.
There was a documentary a few years ago where Brian Robson was involved with a company that 'manages' the second ownership so the actual owner's name doesn't appear anywhere on the paperwork and when Channel 4 ( Dispaches, I think) found out, the fall out was quite serious. The meetings they videoed 'fake sheik' style were in Thailand or China or somewhere because if they were caught having that conversation in the UK it would have resulted in possible arrests. They even mentioned the clubs that were for sale on a 'buy now, get out richer in five years' basis. I think C.Diff, Sheffield Utd and maybe Coventry. All with a view to ploughing money in, getting promotion to the Premier league and bailing after taking the TV cash.

After that, the F.A. Said they would keep a close eye on the sale of clubs, but the documentary also showed that at the time, eleven of the clubs owners from the Premier. League could not be pinned down to one person because of the massive paper trails through management companies and varying boards.

It was about the same time Flavio Briatore got into his trouble at the FIA and had to leave F1.
