I have already posted that we are unlikely to be relegated as remaining fixtures indicate the 47 pts is a safe number .. SO WILL TODAY be the day that cements the other 2 joining Bolton with fixtures against Northampton ? second half of the season points with last 4 games points in brackets ( ) Blackburn 19 (4 ) v Huddersfld 22 (4 ) BLACK BURN same points, next on our scalping list, Huddsfld 1 behind so today there is going to be a difference in our relationship with these 2 whatever the outcomes ... a draw? Rotherham 23 ( 10 ) v Florest 17 ( 0 ) Success versus failure with 1 point separating 6 teams incl us +1 whatever the out comes today there will be changes, unless as expected Rotherham fail to win Brentfrd 20 ( 9 ) v CITY 26 ( 7 ) SHOULD WE LOSE or draw. then above hope for draws, a win will see us get some space MKD 15 ( 0 ) @ PNE and Charlton 17 ( 4 ) v Derby a bad day all round in store even if they win, progress in closing the gap will be tortuous .. safety is currently 48 points for them (bad GD)... Charlton v Bolton and MKD v Florest are the only 2 bottom v bottom fixtures left and MKD'S they could already be Div 1 ! SO come on you redDDDDZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz 55pts please
Sadly no. Its the 90th-minute goal curse again, that seems to have hit us many times this season. Had we won, we would have been safe. As it is, we are 10 points clear with 12 left to play for. Assuming worst case scenario and we lose all our remaining games (Derby, Blackburn, Huddersfield and QPR) then we are still safe as long as the following happens: - Charlton lose or draw any one of their remaining games (their GD is so bad they would have to win all their games by a large margin to be any sort of threat to us) - MKD lose any one of their remaining games We could be safe by the end of Tuesday's fixtures even if we lose.
Of course, we only need to win ONCE out of our remaining fixtures and we would be safe - neither Charlton nor MKD could do anything about it. Draw and we would be out of reach of Charlton.
we are likely to be 20th after TUESDAY games or a miracle happens .the big Q is do Derby want to play Brighton or Hull ? at the mo it is Hull !
Frankly if we do lose all our remaining games, we will deserve to get relegated. Its the kind of comment you can make when you know it will all be ok very soon
Goal difference is irrelevant as it would work against us in such a scenario- We have a 5 goal advantage- 3 defeats would reduce this to 2 maximum. 3 MK Dons wins improves their goal difference by 3 minimum. Therefore they would overtake. We NEED a point.
