Hewitt has been making our bench recently and putting in some good performances in the reserves, so is it time for him to be given his chance? Having read various posts on here I believe Orr has not been the most convincing at right back (although he did well in center mid), also while Edwards is good going forward he is not a defender. Therefore I think it may be time for MM to give Hewitt his chance, it has always been the ITFC way to back youth and all the reports I've heard about this lad are very promising. Loach, Hewitt, Simth, Chambers and Cressy could be a great back five for the next 3/4 seasons. After all Chambers has only just turned 27, so they are all pretty young and will develop together. Under MM I am excited about the future of our club as we have some great youngsters and MM will be able to guide them into a solid team.
Personally I'd say Orr has improved quite dramatically since his first game (which he was awful in) so I'm more than happy for him to keep his place in the team. I think it's a huge step for Hewitt and he will obviously feel under enormous pressure, so I don't think we should add to it by just chucking him straight into the team especially when we are in such a vulnerable position in the league. I reckon MM is planning on letting him come on as a sub for the last 10mins or so of a game we are leading comfortably in, but the recent games have so far been open right up to the final whistle so it hasn't been right for him. Maybe we will see him in the cup?
Not while we're winning. We make changes where necessary and subtle improvements to keep things fresh but stick with a winning formula and reward those who win us games not punish them
We are still near the drop zone and throwing somebody in who has been out injured for so long and has no experience at this level would be rather risky for me. As Wright has said, ease him into games from the subs bench when we are in a good position and go from there.
Hewitt just coming on at Millwall. Just as I said, MM waiting until we are winning comfortably to let him have a run around for last 5mins+ injury time
