Manager signs £1m rated Murphy and leaves him on the bench, Brown and Mowatt both ahead of him. Manager signs 7 players and two loans, none of the signed 7 start. Diouf plays after featuring all of 10 minutes previous, probably 2 stone over weight and clearly unfit ahead of another manager signing Hunt or even Poleon or out on loan Morrison. Kebe was awful for 90 minutes but stayed on the pitch. Rumours are circulating that Varney refused to play. We again played awful. No wins in 8 games. In a worse position than this time last season. Thrashed by Wednesday 6-0 Knocked out the cup by a team 2 divisions lower who also outplayed us. Season once again over before the end of January Please someone point out why the manager should stay?
I don't think he should be sacked, it'll just push us back another 2 years. We really need to look for stability at the club, its the best way for a club in our position to get promoted, this one season wonder stuff doesn't work and I'm sure everyone realises that. I haven't seen the performance, just the result so cannot really comment. For stability to be achieved we do have to have faith in the manager though because we can end up sticking with a manager that is wrong for the club for the sake of it rather than someone we really think can take us forward. All in all I think we should really be looking for Brian to stay and continue building the club up the way he has done. I don't agree with any comments regarding his signings personally, I've gone through it before why. The pressure is definitely on though and we need to start winning games otherwise whether fans like it or not he will be sacked.
Brian's head must be done in ristac. But what can he realistically do? I mean the guy is probably on a half a million a year contract or something like that, so it's not something anybody can easily just walk away from even though it's easy for some of us to say he should walk if he had any balls. He is toast if Cellino comes in anyhow and it looks like GFH don't rate him anymore. So if Haigh and Flowers are out of the picture, it is just a matter time before he gets a nice settlement and he can go manage a properly run football club and try again. A shame really because I liked him, however I don't think on reflection he was the right man for the job.
I watched the first half via a feed on my XBMC and sports devil, we were awful and Kebe really should be sent back now. I agree we need stability but I have lost faith in Brian just as I lost it in Warnock. Brian will be sacked before the end of the year, I have no doubt about that, this is the team Warnock built and Brian has had a year to sort it and all he has done is build a bench of substitutes that he is too often scared to use or often too late. I DON'T want the board to give him any money to sign players, he wastes it, he hasn't made one signing who has made a difference to us this year, we already have dead wood from Warnock that needs shifting without any more.
Just listened to his post match interview, anyone who doesn't think he has Leeds' best interests at heart - fans and club - and is an honest man needs to check it out.
Best interests and honest men are not a qualification for being a good manager. What has he dones for the club, seriously anyone please tell me what he has done that has made us better than this time last year? Answers on the back of a stamp please. If you get a chance to see any of it please watch Kebe and Diouf - Any manager that picks those two wants sacking. As a person he seems like a nice guy, as a manager of this club he is clueless.
We didn't have a shot at goal in 90 minutes, scored from a penalty that shouldn't have been awarded. Their goal was the softest I can remember seeing. Kebe is useless, Stewart is invisible. Dross absolute dross.
I wouldn't like him in charge if it came down to a dog fight because I think we would come off second best. Lucky that we scraped a few wins early doors otherwise I would be really worried now.
So he spent a million on a player from a lower league, who will need time. Didn't see all this when we went on a good run. The club is in a mess, takeover etc, What we don't need is another manager, and lets face it no time to buy players. Wake up lads, season was over in september. MOT.
Is it really going to make any difference while all this **** is going on. This happens every single season about this time and we never get any further. Another season written off, failed promises in the January transfer window (again), and a manager who hasn't got a clue what's happening above him. There's absolutely no stability in the club once again so what's the ****ing point in paying off another manager with money we don't have. I'll be happy to be playing Huddersfield on Saturday with Mccormack in the side. That's about as good as it will now get this season I'm afraid.
The takeover by Haigh and Flowers has collapsed and they'll be wanting their £6m back. Can see McCormack being the sacrificial lamb to raise the funds. Looks like Cellino will be the new owner, so McDermott will be on his way as well.
And which manager would have been? Perhaps we'll know one day, perhaps we won't, but the way he handled transfers up to buying Murphy, then stopping dead apart from freebies, suggests to me he may have expected a lot more support from the owners than eventually he got. Not sure anyone would be able to manage in these circumstances, with takeovers off/on/off daily
For those saying keep Brian - are you happy with his dealing in the transfer market, what are your thoughts to Zakliukas and Hunt not even on the bench, Wootton and Murphy not starting supposedly £2m worth together and you honestly believe hand on heart he has made a positive difference? Not enough money into the team I agree but he has certainly spent triple what Warnock had to spend
