No, it's not the end, just the beginning. Looking a bit shaky for him at the moment though. Lots of big teams get knocked out of the League cup (even by lower league teams)m but it's never a worry to them. The League Cup doesn't really count for most teams, hence the playing of weakened teams.

Never mind the fact that they've only won against Norwich and Reading in one of the worst starts to a league campaign in their entire history <doh>

Is it the end of Rodgers.....

I think it's the begining of the end for him, no way will the Kop keep faith with him, and his empty sound bites! See casual is a closet Scouser too.................<laugh>

As a very recent ex manager ,then I'm only interested in a perverse sort of way ( a bit like rubber necking a road accident) ,as I previously posted he did us a favour by jumping ship , he could have stayed and would we have improved not likely imo but hindsight is a great thing if you're blessed with it .
We have a very astute board and long may it continue beacuse the ride we're on will end one day, but it's one I consider myself lucky to have bought a ticket for

I don't think it's the end and he will get patience from us.

The honeymoon period is over, his tinkering and use of the squad that we have seen since his arrival is something we understand and appreciate, he's already brought through the likes of Suso, Sterling and Wisdom this was important and a step in the right direction.

Now we are out of the COC all other competitions are very important to the club and fans, we want to do well in Europa, FA Cup and finish as high as possible in the league.

Rodgers now has to decide who is good enough and who is not, we need to be playing our best team in the vast majority of games, that team needs to learn what Rodgers wants and apply it on the field week after week.

We will then judge him on that.

Wisdom has been there since he was a kid, Suso since he was 16 from Malaga and Sterling we bought from QPR when he was 15.

Rodgers has given all three a go and more but only these 3 seem capable of playing first team footy at the moment.

I'm still hopeful that this will work out and that he will remain in charge for many years but of course there comes a time when results are needed.

That's my point made. He's had too, bring them through I mean, as he has had no other choice. He has invested heavily in players he knows. At Swansea, he brought Borini and Sinclair ( Chelski ) Siggurson ( Reading ) Graham ( Watford ) All former teams of his. At Liverpool he has Allen from us , He gets Borini and goes after Siggy. There's nothing wrong with that of course , but are you thrilled with Borini? Joe is different class and a great steal for you, but really I think, unfortunately, that you will find the soundbite kid is extremely lightweight in ideas and scope. In his BBC interview he was at pains to point out that he was our manager for a couple of years almost as if to point out that we were a product of his. We are not and he knows that, but why say it in the first place. I hope your patience is rewarded , and that one of his nicknames '' No (plan) B Brendan '' doesn't damage your team .

    Just beware the Blarney!

Fair comment there Fsdon, and all true, seems Liverpool have some real deadwood to eject, Cole for me would be top of the list, given his wages, and the opportunity Rodgers gave him last night, he was very poor!..............<ok>

Agreed, it's all well and god bringing in these players to a small club like Swansea where there is little expectation - especially when we were Championship. Youth players from Chelsea were brilliant signings for us, but at the helm of a club like Liverpool with table topping and Champions league expectations, I think it's fair to say you need a bit more about you than just sticking to the players you know from managing at a lower level.
Laudrup and his knowledge of the foreign market being the perfect example.
How long before the yanks see what Laudrup is doing for us and come after him to? Maybe they should have looked to him in the first place and saved themselves £22 Million :D

I've watched you lot for a few seasons now as I'm from the area, my kid even played in your U13's and 14's. As much as Rodgers didn't create the Swansea way he seemed to get the balance right and get you playing some great football, better football than the managers before him.

I can understand why you are pissed off with him but I don't think you are giving him enough credit.

If he can just replicate the way he had you lot playing last season then surely a certain amount of sucess will follow, you are right in that we have a lot of terrible players on the books and he needs to deal with that, but our first team is good and he just needs to play the best 11 for a prolonged period and I think it will come good.

luvgonzo..take no notice of some on here they are idiots and childish. I listened to a good debate today and Brendan is doing what is expected and he has got Liverpool playing some lovely football. All that is missing is a quality striker that will be rectified in January. Like they were saying that Brendan has come in when the team was at a all time low and he is changing things around that wont happen over night or even a season. The owners are very pleased with progress so far and will stick by him whatever. the fans will just have to be patient and to be fair what i heard today then the majority are and know what he is doing and are happy.....He now knows his team and in January he will get rid of the dead wood and bring in players he knows that can play his way.....Brendan's job is not an issue as he is doing the job what the Liverpool owners wants him to do......second half of the season you will see a much improved team ....that i have no doubt........

I'm still happy with Rodgers and you are right most Liverpool fans are aware that this will not happen overnight, to be fair though nobody is really being childish.

I can't help but wonder what would happen if Liverpool lost at home in the FA cup to a lower league team. Would the patience run out of that happened ?

Sorry LG we have to apologise all over the place for the ''childish'' poster, we all have our wums don't we. No the majority of fans here are, shall we say, extremely excited about our future, by the way I've just been reminded that the wum, the '' childish '' one, when Brendan arrived, wanted him out, wanted us to lose pre season so we could get rid. No I think the majority were gutted over the Joe Allan affair and BR blatantly derailing the Siggerson purchase ( we'll leave that ). We grew sick of the sound bites and a few agreed that he is just full of it. If it works for you so be it but we were warned by Watford supporters what he is like , and well they were right.

All the best for the rest of the season
