There I was packing my bags ready to fly off to Paris tomorrow to remind the French how they should be eternally greatful for the allies liberating them in '45 and after on a boat travelling up the Seine to the Normandy Beaches and battlefields of the Somme when I thought about the new season and bugger me the Championship starts the day after I get back from the UK after my French sojourn.
