I'm getting concerned that we're not taking 3 points from home advantage. Now i know tottenham are high up the table but due to our losses to lesser opposition at home earlier in the season i'm beginning to think it is almost compulsory that we win our home games. What do you think ?
I do share this concern however we did get a decent bonus 3 points at Stamford Bridge so if we do the same again against West Ham next week we'll be well on track.
Yes we do. We need to start attacking or we won't survive. Just hope HR has a different game plan against the lower ranked teams.
Harry is obviously looking for players that will enable him to have a go at home. Yesterday we were up against the best counter-attacking side in the League and they were neutralised by not being given the opportunity to play to their strengths. If we'd gone for them they'd have picked us off like Liverpool did. Patience is the key here, I guess we'll do the same when Man City and Man U turn up but we may have one or two better counter-attacking players in our side by then. One point is better than none and no-one expected anything from our last two games...
One of the first things Harry has surely identified is that we concede too many goals. In order to win a game you first need to stop letting the opposition score more than you. Looks to me like we are addressing that at the moment. If you dont concede you always have a chance and are still in the game, Chelsea being a prime example of this working perfectly. Our attacking force is however pretty much non existent at the moment...we are sorely lacking goals which has been discussed at length already through our lack of attacking options. If we are able to find a decent striker, we will carry far more threat going forward and will hopefully be able to take the game to teams lower down the division. If we can perform smash and grab results away from home and not lose our home games, we have every chance of getting out of this mess. I agree with the OP in that ideally we need to win our home games no matter who we are playing, but a clean sheet and another point against this Spurs team is a good result imo. It could well of been suicide to have pushed too far forward and gone for the win against this team, so settling for a point was the right decision for me. One point is better than none First time they have not scored away from home all season, so a pretty good clean sheet as well.
March\April are going to the big Months for us, January is all bout keeping the gap steady, we have some tough games, while around us have some "easier games". Draw against Spurs good result IMO, though I would have liked to a couple changes in the last 20 mins. Fresh legs up front.
