Than just our midfield that is the prob, i can't help thinking that it may be. Our players apart from, kasper, konch, nugent, and pelts, don't really seem to give a s**t how they perform. Alot of them were signed on big money for their supposed tallent, but they seem clueless, and prob at the min, about blue square league standard, tho that is prob an insult to the blue sqaure lads.
I really dont know what the problem is, but it can't be just on the pitch, cos lets be fair, its a complete and utter shambles at the min.

Billy sharp has now turned us down, so there was obviously something about our club that was not to his liking, tho as ive said before, it won't make any diff who is up front at the min, while we continue to pick and exceedingly poor and underperforming midfield, who possess no pace, no vision, no width, and not one ounce of creativity.Nigel has a massive job on his hands to sort out this mess, yet he stubbornly continues to pick the same old faces, and in most peoples eyes, the usual suspects that are the main cause of our problems.

I for one tho think its a bit deeper than that, and i know us as fans, are treated like idiots mainly, by our respective teams, who think we dont need to know anymore than how to renew our season tickets and never want us to know anything that goes on behind the scenes, but i think we as a club, do have major problems behind the scenes. Now whether that is the pressure put on by our owners, saying they want promotion now, intead of saying we want to go up, but only as and when we are ready, im none to sure, but for whatever reason our team is underperforming by a mile.

well having used the word team, i should have said 11 individuals to be honest, cos we are living, laughingstock, proof that you can't just throw money at players and hope it all works out. A team needs to be built, bit by bit, slowly so that all the pieces fit together properly, and work together.

Those who thought this season was gonna be piece of cake, have been brought down to earth with a bump, and rightly had to take a bit of stick from other fans, and lets be honest there were plenty on here dishing it out. Those of us who kept a more level headed perspective on things, are not too surprised, as to how the season has gone up to now, don't get me wrong, i'm as upset, angry, infuriated, frustrated, and down right disappointed, as the rest, just not surprised.

With age comes wisdom i guess, ive watched this team too long to think anything is gonna be straight forward with them. I for one have forgotten about promotion, the idiots on radio blue tint can say as many times as they like "were only 5 points of the playoffs", well the way were playing it may as well be 50........

Rant over thanks for reading if you could be bothered lol:emoticon-0102-bigsm

    Its all the midfield

Nugent and Beckford will score goals given chances. Beckfords work rate is slowly improving

Kasper and the back 4 are solid if the midfield support them

For me, it IS the midfield that is the problem. There is no one who wants to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in. No one can produce that defence splitting pass and no one can put their foot on the ball when needed.

I have said on other posts before that Gallagher and King are luxury players. They are fine if we are 2-0 up, but when we are up against it, they are passengers.

Wellens has lost his "umph". There was no point in dropping him for 1 game, he needs a kick up the arse to realise he needs to fight for his shirt.

Danns looks better in the centre, we need to find a battling midfielder to play alongside him.

Beckford will come good (don't slate me please), but he needs the ball threaded through rather than to his feet.

Is this season over? Probably not, but for a club who have not had back to back wins for almost a whole year, I feel it is highly unlikely we will make the play offs:(

I actually tweeted Stringer last night asking what is going off behind the scenes as the lethargy and bone bleedin' idleness was there for all of us to see yesterday however, I do think the root cause so far this season is the midfield and I have agreed with Proud for weeks that given the service and playing to their strengths (quick and sharp forward movement) Beckford and Nugent will score buckets full, sideways and backwards passing ensures that they look poor so..... We are therefore back to an under performing midfield. One final comment though, Matt Mills distribution is bloody awful who has told him he has a good 40 yard pass in him??!!

Not posted for ages as I got fed up with all the bullshit from other fans... Now, I must admit I don't get to a lot of games but from the ones i have gone to it is crystal clear that our midfield is dire.

Agree with all the above comments, especially re Nugent and Beckford. We have no craft or creativity in the middle of the park, zippo. Wellens is good as an enforcer but from what I gather he just isn't enforcing, King is that precious commodity of a goal-scoring midfielder but he isn't scoring so there is no point in him being on the pitch, and the rest are just in and out of the team meaning we have zero consistency, evident in our results.

Is Michael Johnson injured? If not it must be time to sling him in and see what he's got.

Last time we failed to win back to back games we all know what happened. I'm NOT saying this will happen this season but it is obvious that this kind of form only sends us backwards.

Sort the midfield out and we will start to win the games we really ought to win.

Midfield we all agree is up the swanny, moral is clearly shot to pieces, I'm concerned about some fitness levels and we clearly have a lack of options because of the NPs consistent team selections! Four big games coming up along with the Forest cup game where I've no doubt the same 11 will be playing, oh and now it seems our transfer targets aren't interested in joining so its captain chaos and the sleeping policeman in midfield again and again and again!

Possibly the more worrying thing for me, which i omitted from my original post, is how our owners are gonna react to the constant shambles which occurs every sat, and the fact that despite having a large squad, the same useless wa****s keep getting picked. Surely they wont keep pumping money into a bottomless pit, and i for one find it a bit worrying that we have not heard from them for a while.............

I think the owners may have thought a few million quid here and there may have been enough to gain promotion when really its all about mind set and luck in this league, as well as the ability to score goals and not concede them! Still they sold us the story and now we have delusions of grandure ;)

Well if the fans want someone looking clueless on the pitch running around anywhere except a usefull area and giving up after 90 seconds then employ me, I'll only want £10k a game plus my losing bonus!

Honest question: Who should be picked instead? Isn't the problem that we not only have an average team (with a few recent exeptions) but a fairly average squad too? I'm sure NP knows who the dead Wood is but its proving difficult getting the quality replacements in at the mo as the Billy Sharp fiasco shows.

^ I don't have an answer for who could play instead other than changing the formation to perhaps 443, Nugent Beckford plus 1 up front, try the youth, but defo drop King and Wellens.
