Is it me? If we are changing things after less than a quarter of recent games, then the plan Has to be wrong from the start.
Playing a virtually non-existent midfield in front of a back 3 is asking for it and we sure are getting it, Chelsea are being made to look good by us, Rodwell, Toivonen shouldn't,t be getting a game for me.
All the good sides you see in the modern have smaller highly mobile pass and move skilled players, we can,t get anywhere near that.
End up pumping out long balls to front players unsuited for those tactics

Hardly the first manager in recent times to make early changes, in fact ever since MoN was sacked every manager has consistently changed things early to try and sort out the shower of ****.

Sam learning that we're **** no matter what he does just like all those managers before him. We were **** from start to finish today. Apart from one move straight off the training ground where we scored, something devised by Sam and his coaching team.

Because out full backs are that **** at defending we ship goals with a back four and we don't have enough defencive depth for the back three. It was a either an ill Coates, Jones as a CB or back four with fullbacks who can't be arsed in their own half. Is there any correct choice? All three options are damned to failure.

The CM, was always going to be the next problem area. Half finished Summer window is the problem. I blame Short.

That was back to the way we played under Poyet, totally inept from start to finish, gave Chelsea far too much time and space, making them look like Real Madrid. with the other results going against us we look finished now. Short out and take Sam with him. Defoe was caught too many times off side Rodwell terrible, but him and the rest will be ok in the championship which will be a blessing really. Bounemouth were league two I believe a few years ago, and we have not moved on the slightest in 9 seasons. Pathetic. Us Villa and WBA to go down now, unless we sign Ronaldo.

The Netto shopping giro wielding prick. We should be shopping at Morrison's buying enough to keep us going for the season at a minmum

As per last week we did much better with 4 at the back, rather than a patched up 3+2. So yeah, I would have gone with 4 at the back. That's me being critical. Would it have been the correct choice? Who knows, but it could have made a difference. All choices aren't necessarily damned to failure.

Not they're not but what it does do is highlight the problems we have defensively which is my point.

5 at the back worked against Palace, because of their style and over reliance on their wingers. It was perfect.

We haven't got the players to maintain that system and play it at a consistently high level. Back to basics and 4 at the back should be the order of the day for Sam.
