Does anyone else see the irony of our owners coming in and spending plenty of money and paying high wages when in the Championship and then, when we get promoted, setting a wage cap at the same amount that we paid the likes of Vine and Agyemang and not wanting to spend anything. Have the owners lost interest, are they feeling the pinch of expensive divorces or is there a power struggle at the top?
Selling up I hope new guys new wage cap bigger players and more money to spend on players (I can dream can't I).
If they're not selling then they will watch their investment gradually go down the pan. My money is still on a takeover following suicidal brinkmanship...
I think you're right Sooper. Suicidal brinksmanship (whether parties are talking or not). The Goons seem to be doing everything to cause their stock to rapidly deteriorate. As I've said before, greed and determination have more to do with self-made wealth than the ability to think laterally.
I agree with you too, Sooper. The Mittals are sitting back and letting the gloss from promotion matt down a bit. If I was the Mittals, I'd continue to look at other clubs, very publicly, to send a message to the Goons that they aren't the only game in town...
I think the main problem with this brinkmanship is that the team will suffer and it may prove an unsurmountable hurdle at the business end of the season...
Yes, if we start the season badly, let's hope that, as you say above, when the Goons see the value of the club diminishing they resume talks in earnest. We don't want to lose NW and we don't want to find ourselves out of touch with the pack by, say, Christmas...
Sorry Goldhawk-QPR, We will out of touch long before Christmas! I hope not but that is the way it looks? Well at the moment any way!
