does anybody else find it hard to support the England team during the Euros? I always support any England side in any sports particularly during an international competition. But with the likes of "citizen of the year" John Terry and other disgraceful lads like Cashley and Stevie me in the team , not to mention the inexplicable dropping of Carrick and Ferdinand while flops like Downing and Carrol make the team , I'm seriously having a hard time finding courage to want to support this team during the Euros.
I have absolutely no connection at all with Ireland but I might honestly throw all my support more towards them than with my own country :emoticon-0119-puke:

So you support individuals not the nation?

Carrick said he would not be part of it unless he was first choice, and to be fair he isn't first choice. I would of liked Ferdinaned there but it was hardly 'inexplicable'. I agree on Downing and Carrol but you hardly replace them two with Carrick and Ferdinand. Terry is innocent til proven guilty, and whats Ashley Cole really done?

Personally i will support them despite whoevers playing for them.

Supporting a country is like supporting a club. You take the rough with the smooth and support the team when they play. I doubt you will find yourself actually supporting someone else.

The extent to which i support them depends on how much the players seem to care. If they try hard and lose i can live with it, but i felt very little for them in the first games after south africa. If anything hoping losses would bring about change.

With the new era being touted im slowly gaining more interest, although the squad doesn't hire too much hope.

Nah. Can't let a few players who we might not like get in the way of supporting our country.

I do support England but do find it tough when you have a small minority of England fans booing United players over the years.

Yes, it's just you. Probably because you're a small minded idiot who can't put club loyalties aside for your country <ok>

I'm going to find it difficult as we're basically playing the Liverpool squad. Truly ****ed before it even starts. Woy is a thick ****.

(I will be supporting England though - Just don't like our manager or 50% of the squad he's picked)

As a Man U fan, you probably don't identify with the team you support being REALLY bad. It's easier when you know how it feels.

yes, we should support England regardless because it's like a club...but we have to face the facts, and it's been said over & over again: English players are technically inferior to most European players. This is why we don't do well in tournaments.

The evidence is there for all to see. Will somebody not realise this quickly and do something about it??? English players are athletes, not footballers. With the exception of maybe Ronney / Gazza in the past.

Matt Le Tissier said in his book that he got berated by the England manager (Glen Hoddle I think) for cutting inside and breaking the mould despite finishing the move with a goal. Fat bastard, but one of the most technically gifted players of all time. I don't know whether the players these days are told to be rigid and safe or whether the players feel under so much pressure that they don't open up and express themselves.

I'd say that's the case for atleast 90% of England "supporters"

There have been plenty of United players past and present that have been assholes too yet presumably you've still been able to find the "courage" to support your team.

I must admit I've been underwhelmed with the squad selected but just as when it happens at Spurs, as soon as the game starts I'm 100% behind them. Either support England through thick and thin or don't support them at all, I've no problem with either choice but if you question your support then you're not a supporter so I suggest you stop pretending.
