Is it just me that got pissed off when we got promoted and news reports described us as

"adding a splash of colour to the premier league next year"

I'm sorry Premier League sheep of old, but the only colour will be the brown in your trousers when we carve your defences up, beat you in the last minute and you develop an un-natural hatred for us.

They might have been referring to the bright colour of our kit?

I've got this sneaking feeling that few people will be very surprised at us next season.
Last time we were in the premier league, there was the normal patronising comments about our play.
Bruce Forsyth migh as well have been commentating......."Didn't they do well" <steam> <steam>

There wont be any of that this year I feel.
People will be comparing us to Blackpool, one big difference is that PL does football, not stand up comdey in his post match interviews.
That will keep us in the premier league.

We'll still get the patronising 'little Norwich' thing, we've only got to look at how the media viewed us last season (Leeds did go up, didn't they?).

I'm sure many will underestimate how decent a side we are, too. The combination of 'little Norwich', largely unhearelded players, the usual condescending view of any promoted side, and the expectation of the traditional tippy-tappy, soft under-bellied City, may well lead a few to conclude we're less than we are.
Alex Ferguson might not field a weakened side at Carrow Road this time, though!

Must admit, I've not been this optimistic about the start of a season for many years. Hopeful, yes, but not this optimistic.

Would be immense if that happens, although if you asked me now I'd snap your hand off for 17th :)

I'm still determined to hang on to the idea we'll finish bottom with no points. It just seems to be the only way to keep a sense of realism on how far we've come, and how fast.

If we manage to survive, it will be an extraordinary achievement. With Lambert in charge, though, I wouldn't be surprised by anything!!
