Rather churlish of pellegrini to say how City had won the title with style on the day he lost the title to Chelsea. He could have given his congratulations and left that discussion for another day. Some say champions should win with style. Others winning is all and it is all about points, even if it means boring football. Which side are you on? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32578400
pelligrini made a fool of himself there, my first reaction to those quotes anyway. i doubt citys accountants, or owners or fans, or players will take much solace in being the highest scoring also rans...
Not really. As Everton and WBA have shown this united side still needs a lot of work. A shame therefore that the champions didn't play as champions. If Jose had a bit more balls he would been admired as well as respected
So obvious that you're not over it as you open threads like this on our board on the day after we win the league. Ironic that. BTW, he is admired and respected by the people that count. Not some plastic on a forum.
Water off a duck's back. Prem managers are not all seeing all knowing guru's. If they show petulance it means at least they hurt in defeat which means they at least care about their team more than at a mere professional level. Childish? Maybe, but human. As fans we defend our teams when they are right and wrong, that includes the managers, and this is often the source of much fun but also is the main reason when playful jibing becomes downright fury and physical violence when fans come face to face. There are so many better things in life to be worried about and indeed enjoy. Winning with style is important.................from a commercial point of view. Your fans will go to the shop and buy win or lose. Winning means you can offer them more lines of merchandise. Winning means you attract a few more new customers wanting to identify with success. Winning with flair allows you to sell to new fans, fans of other teams and maybe gaining them full time. Otherwise the only other benefit of winning with style is bragging rights and the kudos it brings, both not absolutely essential or needed by me at least.
Well I'm not saying whoever can prefurr what to watch. Bearsonal preference isn't up for debate by me. I though do enjoy the details of a boring 0-0 at times.
Is it important to win without bent referring decisions. Howard Webb retires and United haven't won **** since
Its not the team but the Numpty you bought in to replace the other numpty, shame Jose turned you down.
Maybe if Pellegrini would let us have Sergio Agüero then maybe we'll win the Premiership with even more style next season.
Interesting how the Arse played last match. Defending deep and breaking with pace. I wonder where I've seen that before? Is this a new Wanger masterstroke?
There's even a difference between playing great defensive football, winning, as we did against Utd, or Arsenal with the draw, as opposed to the negative and poor game we played against PSG at home. The PSG game was a mistake in tactics, but most of the other games we had to play to our available strengths. We would all like to see our early season form all year, but injuries, suspensions and a small squad meant a more pragmatic style. One thing is certain, playing with style and not winning is worse.
