First post so please be kind!!

After years of watching from the sidelines on this and the 606 forum before it I decided yesterday to get myself registered to take my mind off the waves of City attacks. About 10 seconds after I pressed the confirmation button Ji scored!! If I had of known that was all it took I would have signed up years ago!

Somebody was asking what had changed under MON - for me it is the commitment of the players, running themselves in to the ground and throwing their bodies in the way of everything - it takes me back to the early days of Keane, especially all of the late goals in our favour.

If we buy in the window I would like to see players coming in with that kind of attitude - Samba at Blackburn is an obvious choice but he may be set for a London club. Another less obvious choice would be Kevin Davies at Bolton (apparently he waved goodbye to the crowd at the last home game) - I know that his age is against him but if MON could reignite him for the next 18 months that may well give the likes of Connor, Fraizer and Ji time to develop + he can hold the ball up better than Bendtner can.

Welcome Riever and what a great first post ;)

That's a very good shout about Kevin Davies. He's a beast of a player and always gives defences a hard time with his ability to hold the ball up and the arial threat he posesses.

I would be happy to see him arrive at the club, particularly if it is at the expense of Emile Heskey signing for us!! ;)

For sheer determination and team spirit, yesterday's performance ranked with the 1973 Cup Final against Leeds. What a result - and what a manager!

LOL Ryhoper I was thinking that as well. Just a pity he didn't do it when we played Wigan.

Oh and welcome to the board Riever.

Thanks fellas - I could be of course that the loss to Wigan may turn out to be the best result we have all season given what happened afterwards.

Feel free to delete away in early March before we go to the Shellsuitsareus.com stadium up the road and I will happily re-register! To be honest I would happily divorce the Mrs and remarry her if we could get 3 points that day!

    Welcome Riever. <ale>

I too like Davies, don't know what the hell has happened to him since he got the England call up?
EVen though I thought Bendtner was a good loan signing, I have to say over all the matches I have seen him play he has disappointed, in the majority.
Sign Davies up to replace Bendtner who will be away at the end of the season anyway.
Davies always gives 100% and I'm sure MON could get him firing on all cylinders again.

Loved the City performance and of course the result, but no way is it up there wtih the 73 final or even the semi versus Arsenal for that matter. I was at both games and believe me anyone else who was would tell u they were at a completely different level for angst, and outcome - Another level!!

I was also at main road and roker park for the Man city darw/win in the 73 run and both of those games were up there too, 56,000 at Roker unbeatable atmosphere
