My belief is that staying in the Championship for one more year would do us more good than harm rather than going up to the prem. We have a lot of contracts expiring now along with a full capacity of loans to go back to their respective clubs. We all know the score if we get promoted we're back to square one with trying to build a team to survive in the prem and we all know what happened the last time we arrived in the big boys league. So I feel with the nucleus of players that will be with us at the start of the season and with added newbies to be brought in it will give us another year to progress at the right speed rather than having to spend big for the prem with at least half a new team trying to run before we can walk. Therefore I feel if we lose it might not be such a bad thing and next season at least we should be able to guarantee winning more than losing. Please don't take this post to be negative I will be cheering, shouting and more likely be crying come the end of the game on Saturday win or lose. Of course it will be exciting prospects if we do win its just the experience that we had for those 2 years that have scarred a grown adult. Come on u R's Ps I can't believe come Sunday I'm off to Derbyshire for 3 days might have to leave my QPR tops behind
well that makes 2 of us lol, but all the in-laws are DCFC season ticket holders and i'm still alive, although was a tad suspicious of the offers of a lift down on the 24th, so gratefully declined and driving down myself.
Why have we got any God given right to "wait a year" for promotion....this could be the only chance we get.... Take it with both hands...if we are lucky and go up...don't get too excited, consolidate and build there I hate people who say lets wait a year.....like Watford last year....no it never works like that Come on u RRRS take this chance by the scruff of the neck Come on U RRRs
Nobody has a god given right but then nobody but us have owners like we do. They are serious in what they are doing and money will be available to us in abundance compared to our competitors within reason. So although we have no divine right it sure does help ,it helped Man City win the league twice in the last few years
I have sympathy. Our last year in the EPL was painful something I didn't want to repeat, I hoped we would spend 2 years in the champions, rebuild learning from our mistakes, which also gives me sympathy for the people that have complain about out style this year. However I also understand that it's a little bit more complicated than that, to carry on TF dreams of new Training facilities, new ground, new youth system we need to bank roll it and i don't think we can the championship. So while it isn't the style or way I would like I can understand what had happened this year, short term pain for long term gain. So upwards, on-wards and forever forwards..Come on U RRRRs
There are arguments both ways but I feel certain The Board would take promotion now rather than next year.
I will be 100% gunning for a great win, and historic day on Saturday, but that said, if we lose, the thought of having another year in the championship and going up a much more prepared and stronger team at the end of the 2015 season will be of some comfort.
My point exactly. For me it's a win win , would feel more worried if we are in the prem next season but that would mean we had a win at Wembley and that's been a long time coming
Cardiff picked up £62 million for finishing bottom and get £23 million for each of the next two seasons in parachute payments. That would put a dent in our £177 million debts if we only spent one disastrous season in the top flight, something we're used to. We can't afford not to go up despite what TF has said...
But then do we go up, show no ambition in the transfer market, therefore almost guaranteeing relegation, and pocket the cash? I know that is a harsh interpretation of your point, but if that is our aim, I would far rather wait a year, and go up with the ability to build on a good base, and stay up. Going up just for the money seems a shame.
Thank f**k its not just me then..Im physically shaking with excitement and am scared to death.. Wany us to lose? You must be f**king mad......each to thier own but i cant go with that
If it wasn't for the point the club could theoretically go bust without promotion then the ideal for me would be a glorious win at Wembley followed by a glorious title-winning Championship season, repeated until the end of time. A lot of local away games next season should we stay down.
We came down last time because we had a dressing room filled with disunity, ego and laziness. This season we have a dressing room full of cohesion, respect and effort. When we go up, we ain't gonna be as bad as last season. Come on U RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your post is bang on and echo my thoughts. I think it is a win win in many ways. We all like to go up and match it with the big boys but may also like to stay here in the Championship and really crack it next year. This year, although we've hung around the top couple of places, it seems like we never really had a go run at it. The team didn't really fire up, like Leicester or Burnley ......... we just bumped along with no real force which left many a fan asking, where's the problem? Naturally, there are pros and cons to both sides of being promoted or not making it. Either way, I still love my team.
